Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Couldn't book it online, but a lady on the phone has been really helpful, thank you for this easy communication ! Quick responder.

Everything was so perfect, from the beginning until the end ! Tania, our driver, put such a nice atmosphere all along the trip ! Lots of stop at wonderful view points, not so many customers on the boat, great information to learn a little bit more where we are and to finish a lovely nice walk even if it was under the rain !

If I was going back to Milford Sound, I will definetely book again with Cruise Milford without hesitation ! Thank you so much for the amazing day we spent !

    The two frenchies girls.

We caught the coach from Te Anau and our coach driver, Brad, was fabulous; telling us the history of the building of the road through the mountains; stopping on the way to admire the wonderful scenery and beautiful waterfalls. Heavy rain meant epic waterfalls to point out. The overnight cruise on the Milford Mariner was equally amazing with great food, knowledgeable staff, a comfortable clean cabin and again splendid waterfalls. Would highly recommend.

A very great tour. Rhys was our guide for the day. It was an early start but well worth it. There were several stops along the way for scenic shots and local information. The tour company handled everything including lunch so we had no worries! The boat tour of Milford sound was scenic and enjoyable. It was a long day but it’s probably highly recommend that this tour be done with a guided company instead of on your own.

Great day out! Andrew was an excellent guide, lots of interesting commentary along the way. Lots of stops, never rushed, a couple of short walks on the way back added to the day. I first used Trips & Tramps 30+ years ago and glad I went back!

Excellent tour and great guide, Stephen. Wet weather produced plenty of waterfalls and there was even light snow on the peaks. Appropriate attire allowed for the walking.

Ive been on many milford sound cruises and the pure milford had the most comfortable boat and the best commentary. I would call the boat luxurious. The stunning inside areas, glass roof were very comfortable. However, i loved the front bow and seating, and the upstairs outdoor area which was covered, so out of the wind and rain but still outside. The upstairs open deck was great viewing as well.

The commentary was in english and was very very thorough and interesting. The hot drinks were appreciated.

Also the boat was so smooth, even when we went closer to the tasman sea the wave movement on the boat wasnt even noticeable.

I highly recommend this cruise. We had plenty of space and never felt crowded.

Wow! What a wonderful experience! Our flight from Queenstown to Milford Sound is undoubtedly the most spectacular flight we have ever taken. The mountain scenery was amazing and the clouds playing with the peaks looked almost unreal. The plane was a Cessna Caravan which was big enough for the job but still gave great views out the windows. Our pilot Tom was very professional. The cruise up the Sound was great and the boat was able to approach towering cliffs and waterfalls very closely. A truly beautiful place. I highly recommend this tour!

We would like to send an appreciation to the local Tour guy Steve , who we had his service for today on Milford sound trip,

He is very knowledgeable and is so friendly, gives us a lot of information and story of this beautiful place.

he’s got a great sense of humor , just like our lovely, beautiful kiwis, we had such nice weather today and knows a lot from his talking today, and we also had a great yummy dinner in fat duck, which he suggested to us.

Thank you team, thank you Steve for giving us a beautiful experience.

Our experience was made special due to our driver, Sonia. Sonia was friendly, helpful and made our trip enjoyable. She was also a safe driver, which was important to us for such a long journey (Queenstown > Milford Sound > Queenstown). Would recommend Southern Discoveries solely based on our interactions with Sonia. We look forward to visiting again

We were picked up on time from our pick-up spot. Dani, the tour guide with Cheeky Kiwi tours, arrived in an immaculately clean Mercedes Sprinter van. The seats were comfortable, and the temperature in the van was just right for the conditions. Dani was an engaging tour guide. She included interesting facts and historical information with a sense of humour and made sure that all guests were included throughout the trip. There were ample stops for photos with enough time at each place to take a look and stretch before continuing. Our fellow travellers were all considerate and polite. The cruise was pleasant. We had a mostly sunny day, and the scenery could never be spoilt by weather. Dani ensured our handover to the pilot was smooth. We were transferred by bus to the airstrip and enjoyed a flight back to Queenstown on a Kodiak 10 seat plane. It was a little bumpy due to the conditions. However, the pilot kept us informed of everything flight related as we went. She pointed out many land marks, taking us close to the falls as we left Milford. A thoroughly enjoyable day. We were back to town by 3:30. I would highly recommend this tour.

Mercedes minibus sounds great but seats are rather Narrow. Great guide but Milford Sounds is busy and cloud obscured and rainy for 60 percent of the year. This can impact on what you can actually see
