Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great museum. We loved finding some of our family tree who had emigrated to NZ from both mine and my wife’s sides of the family. We also loved the collection of household appliances through the decades which brought back many memories for us. The car collection at the end is an added bonus

Would definitely recommend having dinner at Speight's Ale House when in Dunedin
We had the Lamb Shank with mash and veg and the Braised Beef with mash and peas.
Both meals were nicely presented, quite a large serving at a reasonable price and a great taste. The staff attending to us were very friendly.
Best to book a table as it can be busy.

We visited this area as part of a trip to the Royal Albatross Visitor Centre. The views of the coastline, and of the whole harbour are stunning. An enjoyable trip.

A nice museum concentrating on wildlife in the Otago area. There was an excellent exhibition of award winning photography. It was a real shame that none of these photos were available to buy copies as prints. The highlight of our visit was the planetarium which was brilliant.

I felt very lucky to attend a photography tour yesterday - it was a 90 minute tour and our guides helped us understand the implications of what is happening in our waters and the impact it is having on the wildlife at the same time as providing amazing views over beaches and amongst the fur seals.

The income from the tours helps with the funding for the penguin rehab -so a win win for all.

It's a very easy short hike down to the views of the usual wild coastal scenery of eroding cliffs with stacks, arches and a tiny beach. The area has been upgraded and the path is very well maintained but long and zig zags a lot, but the plus is it's not a steep gradient and minimises erosion prevention.

On a windy day, gusts can push you about, so take care.

Best on an outgoing tide, so check the tide is at least half way to low tide or not more than half way on the turn, so that you can at least access the small beach safely.

Views are spectacular but unfortunately the quarry to the right ruins the view but it looks a little pyramid like at the moment. The stairs in the man-made tunnel to the beach is steep and can be wet. Then it's just the hike all the way back up.

Very special place. We saw Takahe and chick, so lucky. This is for people who want to see special/ rare nature. The cafe was pretty special too small but really good and very welcome on a wet day.

Took an Argo Tour during a vacation in NZ and had a wonderful time. Our guide was very informative and helpful, the views were amazing, and we were so excited to see both blue penguins and yellow-eyed penguins. Would recommend to others looking for a close up of the wildlife on the Otago Peninsula.

This is a very steep climb but well worth the effort.... As parents we walked the hill whereas the younger ones ran with their back packs - oh no not for me!!!
Bit of a shame that there is nothing to say you've achieved this - no certificate to buy, poster/sticker as a memento.... Just a thought as we would have loved this

Fantastic museum ! Well worth an hour or more to peruse the many natural and historical artefacts. Lovingly presented in three rooms of a beautiful villa, with Bruce on hand to ask questions about his wonderful collection, he is a very innovative curator. From his extensive collection of skulls and bone, his quirky paranormal oddities from more recent history, tribal masks and folk art and other curiosities from many parts of the world this is one of Dunedin’s must-see museums. Bruce’s own art displayed in the last room is also very inspiring and thought provoking. Highly recommended.

My friend and I drove here after our meal at Saint Clair. Beautiful location however we went on a cloudy day so didn't quite get the best view that we could have. Would love to come back when the weather is a bit nicer.
