As we drove up saw a sign saying invisible queue so we joined the end which ended up being 3 parked cars 🫨

Entrance was cheaper due to some works. It didn’t spoil the trip

We walked the gardens as per the map and we enjoyed them. We found the Cheshire cat but we did cheat 😈

The interior of the castle was good and only a few rooms off limit

We stopped at cafe for cup of tea and scone all very nice and staff super helpful

    Definitely worth a visit

The Otago Peninsula, located on New Zealand’s South Island, is renowned for its rich wildlife and stunning natural landscapes. Visitors can observe royal albatrosses, blue penguins, and dolphins, visit the historic Larnach Castle, and enjoy beautiful beaches and tranquil villages. It is prefect for nature lovers and eco-tourism adventures.

I’m not a museum person but was very impressed by this place. So much to see through many eras of history, and it’s free. Standard gift shop and a very nice cafe as well.

This is a must do! The guides are fabulous- very knowledgeable, helpful and personable. The walk is beautiful and seeing penguins and seals in their natural habitat will give you a rush! And the best thing is- your tour purchase goes to help rehabilitate the lovely animals. J

It's a very easy short hike down to the views of the usual wild coastal scenery of eroding cliffs with stacks, arches and a tiny beach. The area has been upgraded and the path is very well maintained but long and zig zags a lot, but the plus is it's not a steep gradient and minimises erosion prevention.

On a windy day, gusts can push you about, so take care.

Best on an outgoing tide, so check the tide is at least half way to low tide or not more than half way on the turn, so that you can at least access the small beach safely.

Views are spectacular but unfortunately the quarry to the right ruins the view but it looks a little pyramid like at the moment. The stairs in the man-made tunnel to the beach is steep and can be wet. Then it's just the hike all the way back up.

A nice museum concentrating on wildlife in the Otago area. There was an excellent exhibition of award winning photography. It was a real shame that none of these photos were available to buy copies as prints. The highlight of our visit was the planetarium which was brilliant.

This is a very steep climb but well worth the effort.... As parents we walked the hill whereas the younger ones ran with their back packs - oh no not for me!!!
Bit of a shame that there is nothing to say you've achieved this - no certificate to buy, poster/sticker as a memento.... Just a thought as we would have loved this

Amazing sanctuary birds galore. Easy walking tracks to see Tui, Bellbirds , takahe and more. Well placed bird feeders along the tracks attract the birds for easy bird watching. Cafe has lovely views over the valley. Highly recommended, well priced

From the initial greetings to the very end, this company goes out of their way to make sure we are having fun. The trip was made using their all-terrain vehicles and the driver (Dawn) continually fed us information on where we were going and what we will be seeing. The initial site has pup seals only separated only by a small barrier we were up close and personal to view and never to touch. From there to the nesting boxes of the blue penguins where they opened the sliding viewer so we could see (again up close). Once finished they closed the viewer. All the while they commented on the different sites. Finished up at the store where hot chocolate, coffee etc awaited us. The gift shop had several items and all at decent prices. While visiting Australia and New Zealand, my wife and I agree, this was the best excursion.

We drove up to find the organ pipes and although didn’t do the walk we took some super photos from up here which we thought was better

However signal hill was ok views good amount of parking

Lots of young people being dropped off with their bikes to do the mountain bike rides down the hill. What fantastic facilities for them

    Worth the trip

Bruce is a wonderful collector, offering an assortment of interesting historical artefacts from around the world, natural wonders, art and curiosities. The best attraction I have visited in Aotearoa. A must see in Dunedin!

从停车场一直走到海边,看到许多海狮在晒太阳,孩子们都非常开心!走回停车场一路上坡,而且都是沙路,需要一点体力,但非常值得!Lots of sea lions on the beach, worth to go!
