Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It's a very easy short hike down to the views of the usual wild coastal scenery of eroding cliffs with stacks, arches and a tiny beach. The area has been upgraded and the path is very well maintained but long and zig zags a lot, but the plus is it's not a steep gradient and minimises erosion prevention.

On a windy day, gusts can push you about, so take care.

Best on an outgoing tide, so check the tide is at least half way to low tide or not more than half way on the turn, so that you can at least access the small beach safely.

Views are spectacular but unfortunately the quarry to the right ruins the view but it looks a little pyramid like at the moment. The stairs in the man-made tunnel to the beach is steep and can be wet. Then it's just the hike all the way back up.

Never would I think the steepest street would be in New Zealand and especially in Dunedin. So surprised that San Francisco did not win. What a quirky sightseeing thing to see. Glad we did

Definitely worth doing in Dunedin. It's a short but steep hike. The views of the surrounding area are incredible and the organ pipes themselves are incredible to see.

This was my second time with Hare Hill and we had a blast. You can see Oliver takes excellent care of his horses and knows what he is doing. I would highly recommend riding with them. I’ll be back!

I did all 3 escape rooms at the Prison and the Magic themed one at the Savoy.
Magic Themed one at the Savoy was good, pretty stock standard escape room experience, fun magic theme.
Of the 3 at the prison, the prison one was excellent, but we were warned not to argue in there because some people treat these games like a competition but they are all team building and co-operation exercises. This was solid advice, it kept me from becoming frustrated because I focused on listening to my team mate for clues and sending clues back to him to help him solve the ones in his room too, for the prison one teamwork is key. Russian spy one is a bit difficult if you arent super used to geography puzzles and the medical room one was good too, pretty standard. I would do the prison one again with someone I am good at communicating with, and medical room and magic one with just about anyone, they are pretty standard ones good fun. Russian spy one, either ask for lots of clues or go with a team of some athletic + some geographically knowledgeable mates. Russian room is likely to be more fun with more members and co-operation. with 2 people and some clues it was hard but not impossible. Zoey was a champion, I think she took extra work shifts so we could play them all during our limited time in Dunedin.

Great fun and interesting challenge. We did the Redemption, the prison cell breakout. Lots of atmosphere, being a real prison! Staff really friendly and well explained scenario.

All staff were very friendly <3 and its the first escape room I've visited to let you drink red bull while you play hehe
We did all 5 rooms in one week.
We finished the elf one with no clues in 45mins of 60mins and felt euphoric haha
Cabin one wasn't too spooky at all, just enough to be interesting!
Room 238 was terrifying haha each of us were too scared to touch the next item in case of jump scare or ick or general fear.
Dark wizard was pretty good, puzzles were pretty standard.
Pirates Bounty felt long because it had some twists, but was very interesting! We were glad to not finish too quickly because it was a cool theme.
So I would say pick a room based on what you enjoy most about escape rooms, terror (room 238), winning (elf room) or spending a longer time together doing teamwork (pirates) or if you just like escape room puzzles in general without really minding the theme with no real goal in mind (cabin, dark wizard).

We do a tour with our family every Christmas and have always enjoyed Andrew,s banter. He is a fountain of local knowledge and a great story teller with a wicked sense of humour. We highly recommend doing a tour with Andrew.

Had a great day fishing with Casey. We were on fish at our first stop. We waded and sight fishing to big South Island Browns in clear water and by the afternoon I had landed the biggest trout of my life. Look forward to returning one day and fishing with Casey again.
