Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Blackhead beach Dunedin with its white sand, azure blue sea and dazzling white tipped waves just a beautiful quiet beach to chill, take a picnic, relax and read a book.

Well worth a visit if you’re in Dunedin. Lovely part of town. Stroll along the prom and then down onto the beach, or watch the surfers, for a bite to eat I’d recommend Titi a really good restaurant or The Esplanade for Italian.

Beautiful beach near a horror site. Great place for reflection about what happened a stones throw from the lapping waves after a beautiful coastal drive

Enjoy the wind blowin walk, beware of the seals, they are camouflaged. Incredible views from both sides of the peninsula out crop.

Stayed in the freedom camp area. Absolute blissful peaceful night! It was Summer, No insects, mozies, sandflies, or anything else which was great. Porta loos available closely to use, very clean as only a few campers at that time. No prickles in the grass area. I had my two qee dogs in the camper, someone else had a dog also so assuming it's OK as long as in camper/under control? Weather quite warm in the mid 20s. Stayed a few nights. Will stay again as it's the quietest place at night. Lost of space to park and a great beach just a 5 minute walk.

A beautiful beach where you can see sea lions and fur seals. What a joy to see them playing on the beach. Highly recommend a visit
