Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- solomon08Auckland, New Zealand101 contributionsWonderful pool at the end of St Clair beach. Water was very clean as the pool had been emptied the day prior following a storm that brought a big surge of salt and seaweed. Temperature was not quite up to the usual 28 degrees but it was a sunny day, so pleasant enough. Great cafe alongside.Written 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- KiwigoldfishWellington17 contributionsOne of the most fiendish mini golf courses I have played. But definitely well set up and fun. Wal's Plant and Fun land is a couple of km off the highway to the airport. It's a great place to stop for a cuppa, and a round of mini golf on your way out of Dunedin.Written 1 November 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bzs83xAlexandra, New Zealand106 contributionsI'd never been to the stadium before but I spent two days at the ice stadium attending a summer Bon Spiel curling tournament. What a great facility and a credit to the city.
It's very well run by the dedicated staff who keep the ice in perfect condition for curling, hockey or skating. There was even a group there using one of the lounge areas for their fitness class.Written 2 February 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mkAuckland, New Zealand11 contributionsI did all 3 escape rooms at the Prison and the Magic themed one at the Savoy.
Magic Themed one at the Savoy was good, pretty stock standard escape room experience, fun magic theme.
Of the 3 at the prison, the prison one was excellent, but we were warned not to argue in there because some people treat these games like a competition but they are all team building and co-operation exercises. This was solid advice, it kept me from becoming frustrated because I focused on listening to my team mate for clues and sending clues back to him to help him solve the ones in his room too, for the prison one teamwork is key. Russian spy one is a bit difficult if you arent super used to geography puzzles and the medical room one was good too, pretty standard. I would do the prison one again with someone I am good at communicating with, and medical room and magic one with just about anyone, they are pretty standard ones good fun. Russian spy one, either ask for lots of clues or go with a team of some athletic + some geographically knowledgeable mates. Russian room is likely to be more fun with more members and co-operation. with 2 people and some clues it was hard but not impossible. Zoey was a champion, I think she took extra work shifts so we could play them all during our limited time in Dunedin.Written 3 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lots of atmosphere, being a real prison! Staff really friendly and well explained scenario.Written 5 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mkAuckland, New Zealand11 contributionsAll staff were very friendly <3 and its the first escape room I've visited to let you drink red bull while you play hehe
We did all 5 rooms in one week.
We finished the elf one with no clues in 45mins of 60mins and felt euphoric haha
Cabin one wasn't too spooky at all, just enough to be interesting!
Room 238 was terrifying haha each of us were too scared to touch the next item in case of jump scare or ick or general fear.
Dark wizard was pretty good, puzzles were pretty standard.
Pirates Bounty felt long because it had some twists, but was very interesting! We were glad to not finish too quickly because it was a cool theme.
So I would say pick a room based on what you enjoy most about escape rooms, terror (room 238), winning (elf room) or spending a longer time together doing teamwork (pirates) or if you just like escape room puzzles in general without really minding the theme with no real goal in mind (cabin, dark wizard).Written 3 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. When I asked "what was the hold up" I was told by the cook " I was trying to caramelize the onions, sorry"Written 3 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - kathyrobnzDunedin, New Zealand12 contributionsMy daughter and I had free tickets to see Dr Dolittle. Before the movie we felt peckish. I thoroughly enjoyed my southern fried chicken burger and chips for $15. A nice soft bun, plenty of tasty chicken and good chips. The staff are fun. I will be back.Written 10 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ChizzamericaSouth Island, New Zealand751 contributionsTen-pin bowling is great fun at Bowl Line; excellent tech setup with the screens etc. A group for the children’s party we attended love it!
The catering for the party was however disorganised, for what the parents paid for. That’s not to disrespect the young team working there; perhaps they need some more training/guidance.
Overall, an enjoyable experience/afternoon out!Written 1 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
