Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We booked this walking tour to get a feel for the city during our port visit from a cruise ship. Although the city is walkable on your own having a knowledgeable guide brings the city to life. Without this tour we would never have heard of the Dunedin sound or visited a most remarkable pub. Quirky, but if that's your thing (and it is ours) this is a great tour.

What a blast. My family & I took a tour of Dunedin with Andrew. He was funny, knowledgeable and really took care of us (especially my wheel chair bound sister!).
Great fun, he opened the throttle a couple of times for us too 😀
I would highly recommend doing this - worth the money.
TOP TIP: Dress extremely warmly with a v.warm hat!

This was a great tour. We enjoyed seeing the sea lions in their native habitat, and the drive through the countryside was beautiful. The beach where we saw the sea lions was deserted except for us and that was nice. We had a good guide. I'm only giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the visit to the "steepest street in the world" and the iconic train station were rushed. The view of Baldwin St was from more than a block away and we were very strictly warned that there was NOT time to actually go there. Photos of the homes on this street look cool and I would have liked to have seen it; one reason I booked this tour. It shouldn't be hard to add 10-15 minutes more to the tour and do this, since it is listed as an attraction. Otherwise a beautiful day and scenic drive.

Right from the initial meeting point till the end of this walking tour, the tour guide was fantastic. We enjoyed seeing the grand Victorian and Edwardian buildings. We gained insights into the history and culture of Dunedin

The guide Athol, originally from the area, was very informative and we learned some good historical background to Dunedin. The pace was easy and 2 hours flew by.

We had encounters with unmatched, delicious, award-winning beers craft beers of iconic breweries, along with an interactive guide. Dunedin has a fantastic beer and bar scene and this tour was a great way to experience it.

Kim was a fantastic guide as he showed us the highlights of Dunedin. We had time to visit the city, plus we had lunch at the Larnach Castle. We visited the castle, too. Kim had exceptional knowledge and humor which made for a great day! It was the best excursion on our 12 day cruise.
