Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- kelly11584Auckland Central, New Zealand175 contributionsI went with my brother and nephew as they were showing me Dunedin as I never been there before. It was great market as it was easy to walk around with a pram and we went around the whole way because I got to see the whole things. There was a lot of different stalls and we got some flowers. I got to try my first cheese rolls and it was very good. I would go again and maybe try more food.Written 11 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ibasiDunedin, New Zealand114 contributionsThis is an excellent place to enjoy some great beers. The space is very relaxed with good seating. All the beers are brewed in house. I enjoyed a tasting flight on my visit and was impressed with each of my choices. I shall be visiting again soon.Written 26 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- phebianMelbourneEaglemont, Australia985 contributionsSaw this brewery when driving down State Highway One and decided to call in. Can buy beer or cider by the glass but decided to try a tasting paddle of four of their beers. Liked the Zing Zinga - Citrus Sour the best. - OkiDog072 contributionsThe tour was interesting and informative, and the beer was great. Our tour guide was knowledgeable. The last time I went on the tour I was too young to sample the beer.Written 26 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AbsolutelyDubrovnikSeattle, WA1,155 contributionsLoved this local NZ Chocolate factory in Dunedin. We did the tour which was great - learned a lot about producing good chocolate and the Pacific Island beans they use. Also great tasting where we were able to compare their own chocolates against commercially produced versions. Very small scale production but very focused on doing the ‘right things’.Written 31 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Noeline A1 contributionWe were picked up on time in Dunedin and taken around local sites including a distillery. Although we are from Dunedin we were taken to some places we had not seen before, including a view of Cargills Castle and coastline, views across the Taieri Plains and Mosgiel which were all really good.
the Lunch at The Black Sheep went down a treat and the Saddle Hill Distillery and Brewery was also a nice inclusion with some great tasting gins.
