Done the trip 3 times now and this was the best one yet. What made it so good was the personal sound system with a documentary. For the first time we were able to understand all the details of the scenery and the building of the line and viaducts. The carriage we were in was smooth riding and there was virtually no rail noise. The cafe was adequate and I had some excellent coffee. The food, while somewhat limited, was enjoyable. We also had an icecream. The trip could've been made safer for us as 80-year olds, if we could have had some service at our seat rather than a wobbly walk down the train to the cafe.

We enjoyed our trip on the gondola. It stopped three times on the way up which was a bit disconcerting. Otherwise the view from the top is good.

    Stunning from start to finish.
This was the third walk I did this month after the Heaphy and Rakiura tracks. All Very different and offering different landscapes and challenges. This was absolutely delightful and charming.
The accomodation was unique, quirky, clean and comfortable with everything you need and options for all types of traveller.
The walk itself offered stunning views, beautiful bush, waterfalls, swimming holes, long comfortable stretches and a few challenges and uphill climbs, all the wildlife and farmlife to satisfy every interest.
Can not recommend this walk highly enough. Perfect for a two or three day hiking option in a stunning part of the country free of crowds and busy walkways.

A park full of green areas that you would love in summer time. It is big for wandering around or sitting down to relax. Easy to access with lot of parking area.

Public transport from CBD is available. Many restaurants and Ice cream parlors make the place more interesting.

Loved it! The wine tasting was so so generous and we had Olivia talking us through them all with her vast knowledge of the wines and the Pegasus brand. We had a lovely walk through the garden after and then stopped in a few other Waipara vineyards. We would highly recommend this as a stop and will 100% be back!

We stopped off for a morning coffee, enjoyed devonshire tea sitting in the sun watching the ducks and children playing on the lawn. Coffee and teas good, scones excellent

We walked around the area looking at restaurants. The area was obviously suffering from reduced patronage due to Covid but is a pleasant visit

We spent an awesome evening with Chris and his horses Magic, Big Red, Shadow and Memphis. This is by far the best horse trek around. Chris gauges your ability and confidence level then helps you ride to the best of your ability. Awesome way to spend a summers eve 💕

We were a group pf three over 60's and we had a great time. Graeme made sure we were capable and comfortable on the units before we set off and he didn't just pressure us in any way. We had a fantastic tour of the city seeing places that we don't believe we could have covered any other way. Graeme gave us a running commentary and a very full tour. Well worth every cent.

This was a Christchurch City and environs Day Tour including Morning tea and Lunch.
We were driven in a most comfortable car with Mandy who had excellent knowledge of all things from the great outdoors (she is a keep-fit runner) to the cultural side of life and having lived in Christchurch for some time, knows the before and after story intimately.
Mandy drove impeccably, stopping whenever there were things of interest to look at or visit. She is a charming, intelligent and amusing lady and the whole experience was perfect.
We had never done a private tour before and when you are time-poor, this is the way to see and learn the most in a short space of time.
We hope she may contact us in Auckland if visiting. A great choice Elaine.

A must-do when in Christchurch, you may think it doesn’t seem like much, but it was the best. A calm, relaxing and peaceful ride down the Avon. Just sit back and enjoy the scenery and wildlife while listening to informative commentary by your very own punter!
