- Alys847Dunedin, New Zealand143 contributionsDone the trip 3 times now and this was the best one yet. What made it so good was the personal sound system with a documentary. For the first time we were able to understand all the details of the scenery and the building of the line and viaducts. The carriage we were in was smooth riding and there was virtually no rail noise. The cafe was adequate and I had some excellent coffee. The food, while somewhat limited, was enjoyable. We also had an icecream. The trip could've been made safer for us as 80-year olds, if we could have had some service at our seat rather than a wobbly walk down the train to the cafe.Written 23 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

You can take a ride in the Hagglunds, which are all-terrain vehicles, used in Antartica. The International Antarctic Centre is well worth a visit; allow hal a day.Written 10 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- LynB1Auckland Central, New Zealand105 contributionsVery interesting indeed - but allow plenty of time to take it all in, especially the video interviews with people affected by the quakes. We thought two hours would be plenty but they had to ask us to leave after three hours, as they were closing!Written 15 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Andrew L10 contributionsHad a lovely conversation with Richard, he talked us through the history of of and around the building. The old cathedral, the use of the land prior to the construction of this one, the architectural designs their importance. Very knowledgeable host.Written 7 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- 19Francis72New Plymouth, New Zealand77 contributionsThere s plenty of exhibits which were easily viewable. Everton was well explored and it would take more than one visit to read it all. Our daughters who are young teens loved the place and had fun exploring. Would visit again.Written 23 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- leconnol12322 contributionsLoved it! The wine tasting was so so generous and we had Olivia talking us through them all with her vast knowledge of the wines and the Pegasus brand. We had a lovely walk through the garden after and then stopped in a few other Waipara vineyards. We would highly recommend this as a stop and will 100% be back!Written 5 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Juliea1928Tauranga, New Zealand71 contributionsI have always loved the historic buildings of Christchurch and these lovely buildings have been restored and the ambience is so lovely.Right on the edge of town and accross from the botanic gardens it is a place where you can enjoy the old Christchurn but also take in the new Christchurch near by which is also modern and a credit to ChristchurchWritten 2 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- jmarkquinnChristchurch, New Zealand2 contributionsThis museum at Okains Bay is so remote it’s hard to believe the collection. For Americans, think of the Smithsonian collection of priceless pieces in someone’s garage, out in the country. Really, this collection should be in a National museum. The most amazing Māori collection displayed in the casual understated way, that makes it even more incredibleWritten 13 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Rebecca McLeanChristchurch, New Zealand6 contributionsI've only been here a handful of times but every single time was special. The architecture, the seats, the atmosphere, the location. We're very lucky this was retained after the earthquakes.Written 24 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Sus1952Palmerston North, New Zealand1,914 contributionsThis is an amazing library. It is so spacious and beautifully designed. I was impressed by the various activities available for children such as massive quantities of Duplo and Lego. We were fortunate to be told about the balconies on the fifth floor overlooking the cathedral. A most wonderful library.Written 27 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- MissTinkerbelleChristchurch, New Zealand169 contributionsStill partway through a major renovation and strengthening following the 2010/2011 quakes so some areas are still off limits. Yet to regain it's vibrant atmosphere but making good strides. The great hall is always worth a visit.Written 5 January 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- SimundoWAuckland84 contributionsRiccarton Mall isn't a bad place to spend a few hours. There are a good range of shops and some decent specials. I have to give special mention to the Jacqui E store, where my wife received really great service from the shop assistant during late Dec 21. She couldn't have been more attentive and helpful!Written 3 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
