Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- ElinaP91Zurich, Switzerland29 contributionsI took the bus 28 to the Gondola Station Watch out, the bus doesn‘t service that station before the Gondola opening hours. Take the stop before, if you miss it you‘ll end up in the tunnel to Lyttleton.
I walked up the bridle path, but there are actually two paths. The other one follows a pipeline and is really steep.
Up on the hill I went to the gondola station and had a coffee. Very touristy though.
Afterwards I ascended towards Lyttleton taking the bridle path.
From there I took again bus 28 back to Christchurch. All in all it took me around 3hrs.Written 3 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Catherine BChristchurch, New Zealand387 contributionsThis is a wonderful MTB park close to Christchurch. The trails are very well-maintained, easy to follow and although the park is popular with the residents of Christchurch, the users are polite and courteous. Judging by the number of children biking the trails, it is a park that is suitable for all ages. Walkers are encouraged too. Added to this, there is a kiosk selling drinks, bikes for hire and clean toilets available.Written 28 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tipsfromatravellerChristchurch192 contributionsWe cycled as a group of 5 from Prebbleton. It was pretty well signposted although a couple of times I could have missed the turn off in Lincoln. We really liked the way it followed a river to the lakes. We saw heaps of birds. Some areas of track need to be cleared of weeds and low hanging trees. It was a hot day and we ran short of water. I was really surprised there wasn't a tap at Motukarara. It took us longer than anticipated due to heat and uncomfy bike seats. We carried a lot of gear as we stayed the night at the Little River Camp Ground in a cabin. Allow another 20 mins to cycle there and some of it is uphill. Lovely rustic eco campground. We cycled down to have dinner at the Little River Hotel. Very average meal but we were hungry so it was fine. Ate lunch at the LR cafe and gallery the next day - awesome. All in all we loved the adventure.Written 5 November 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
