Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Flyer10974022941Christchurch, New Zealand1 contributionThe new driving range is world class. At that same level of class is the customer experience presented largely through the professional service offered by the team. Whether it's the filling of your bucket of balls on your behalf, setting you up with login instructions to the trackman machines or their genuine inquiry of how your session went, the team at the driving range make this whole thing a customer centric experience. I couldn't recommend this more highly.Written 8 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Hannah1 contributionWe recently had a team day at Christchurch Golf Club and had a fantastic time. We were approached by the team onsite to sample the new 'fling golf' as we were working around the course and so glad we did as it was fantastic fun. It allowed those who wanted to play normal golf to do so and the others who wanted to give it a go do so at the same time. We were also able to try their 4 wheeled electric scooters which were a great fun way to get around the course. After playing 9 holes, we were treated to trying some of the Head Chef's new dishes ahead of their launch, all of which were completely delicious! To impress a team who work in hospitality (including 2 Chefs) is no mean feet and they certainly did that. The team are already asking when we can return. Thanks again!Written 29 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- deanneleanneChristchurch, New Zealand38 contributionsWent for the first time today and will definitely return. Yummy cabinet food, good breakfast menu, even a jar of dog cookies for your dog, great coffee and lovely friendly service.
This is a copy of another review that I completely agree with.
"I can't find a place to review the cafe separately from the golf course, but I think this is a hidden gem of Hagley Park. Everyone knows about the glitzy (and busy/expensive) Cafe Ilex in the Botanic Gardens, but this one is 100 m from the Armagh St Carpark & has peaceful views over the golf course. It need more outdoor seating as there seems to be only one outdoor table at present. Bike parking is a plus if you are cycling through Hagley Park"Written 11 September 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The carts are perfectly presented.
By wait there’s more.
The course is just outstanding. The tee boxes are in wonderful condition, the fairways tricky but extremely well manicured.
And the greens are just wonderful. Very undulating, local knowledge is an advantage but a great challenge none the less.
We shot early 80”s. It was a great place to play and enjoy an outing.
I can understand some of the comments from other reviewers on the behaviour of some members. This is our fourth time here and they are not pleasant. They play very slowly, so not let you thru. Hit up on you, walk across and play on your fairway when you are teeing off.
Yes they own the course but simple etiquette is free.Written 6 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I was particularly impressed that they had pinot gris at their bar. I wouldn't typically expect this sort of venue to have moved with the times and have this wine varietal available (it still remains quite limited in some restaurants!!). But they had it and it was a nice one and very well priced. The facilities were lovely and clean and well maintained and the service at the bar was great. From what I could see there was also a great camaraderie between the bar staff and the regular punters (presumed golfers) and this is a nice vibe.Written 29 May 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The view of the green aids digestion.

A bargain, especially given the fantastically fast and firm greens and great condition fairways and tee boxes.Written 17 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CFD20Blenheim, New Zealand236 contributionsSited opposite Orana Wild life Park and next to the Maclean Island Cycle track this is a really good caravan parking area. Not expensive - shower and toilet available and you don't really notice the golfers parking and playing!!!! The cycle track was our first off road ride and we loved it.Written 8 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - djmcc50177Christchurch, New Zealand232 contributionsOur Guys monthly Coffee Group have changed our venue to the Waimairi Golf Club Café as it is pretty good to be able to enjoy good coffee and some eats in a nice environment like this.
What with the greens and trees, it is much nicer than a Cafe with only walls and streets and traffic to look out on.
And worth noting too that the Café premises are newish having being built new since the quakes I believe. Nice Premises.
The Coffees are good and likewise the food and they are both generous in their size or proportions as well as tasting good.
Parking is fine there but you may have a short walk to the cafe if the main car park right next to the clubhouse is full.
We will all be back soon as a group for the above reasons - do try the Café at Waimairi Golf Club which you will find out at 460 Bower Avenue and not too far away from the Waimairi Beach area.Written 2 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There's also the option to hit off grass, which many ranges don't offer, and the pro-shop has a lot of golfing equipment to browse.Written 13 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The monster one was nice and easy (would be great for kids) the volcano one was a bit harder, the gondola hole needs some fixing. We lost 2 balls in the mechanics. Was otherwise a fun course. We did it at night and the lighting on the volcano course was a bit rough but added to our fun in a way. The grasslands course was great! Very different in terms of a mini golf course but heaps of fun. Overall really enjoyed it.Written 14 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Rodney1 contributionThe whole day was great and very well run. The golf was great, the Lunch was better and the Wine tasting was fantastic. despite not being a huge wine drinker it was a very educational day learning more about wine. All round fantastic outing with staff and a couple of our members/customers.
Cant wait to do it again in the near future!
