Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The trip was great. We had a wonderful time on the way to Akaroa with a few brief stops, one overlooking Christchurch. We stopped in for lunch at the Billy Hayes restaurant before the harbor cruise. It was a good lunch with only a few choices for entree but drinks were not included. The boat trip into the harbor and on to the ocean was the a highlight. We saw Hector's dolphins several times and even some small blue penguins. The boat captain was very informative.

We had a great tour guide in Stephanie. She had so much great information to share on the tour.

This was a great trip and highly recommended

This interesting tour takes you beyond the expected, and provides a Christchurch residents perspective of where Christchurch is now following a 10 year band of natural disasters/bad luck. Easy walking pace and plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Highly recommended.

Great tour with numerous stops. Guide/ driver was extremely knowledgeable. Bus/van seats extremely uncomfortable and cramped. Loved the wildlife tour. Back in time for ship departure.

I had a lovely lunch and tour on foot through the streets and alleyways of Christchurch, including a delicious rooftop garden lunch and a couple of dessert stops afterwards. But my favorite part was meeting Ash and learning more about her family and the New Zealand culture. There were just two guests on the tour and I loved our intimate conversations. I felt like I was having lunch with a friend and learned so much. Thanks, Ash!

Ally and Noah were wonderful guides. Lots of fun and kept us very safe. It was our first time zip lining and an absolute pleasure.

Nicole from Crater Rim Walks lead us through the most beautiful guided tour of Godley Head just outside of Christchurch. A beautiful lunch and snacks were provided along with lots of lovely stops along the way to talk us through this history of relics and the natural surroundings.
    Highly recommended!!

It was a great experience with my mum and I. They picked us up at the hotel on time
Our guide Diana was lovely. She really took her time to explain things to us, and looked after the entire group. She was also kind enough to stop for us on the way back to get a view of Mt Cook once the clouds cleared up, as it was raining earlier.

I'd highly recommend if you're coming for a tour in Christchurch, this will not disappoint!

Packed a lot into our day, and even though the weather was overcast we enjoyed a lot of sights. Scotty the guide was brilliant. So knowledgeable with lots of information about the city. The information about the earthquake and city centre rebuild and the red zone areas was particularly insightful. The antarctic centre after lunch was a highlight and it was great to have 2 hours there as less would have felt too rushed. You could always have more time at a lot of places but as a shore trip from a cruise time is limited and I feel we got a good taste of the city. We took in a vewpoint, a lovely garden area, drove through a lot of areas with good sightseeing from the bus, and had almost 2 hours of free time in the city for lunch and exploring. Tour was very punctual and we were back with plenty (but not too much) time to get back on the boat. It was an excellent way to spend our day. If you get a chance to take a tour with Scotty do it!

Our group of 19 had an incredible time today with Nicole at Crater Rim Walks! Her and her team were incredibly kind, thoughtful and attentive. The coffee stop was perfect, and the walk was so spectacular! They provided walking poles, snacks, a delicious lunch, water, backpacks and had sunscreen in case we needed it. It made the day so easy, and we could all just enjoy and not worry about a thing! The views were incredible! I’d highly recommend booking the full day walk. It was just awesome! It was a highlight of our trip to New Zealand for sure!

The drive is interesting as you leave Christchurch.
My pickup was spot on time and the driver pointed out the different landmarks and notable parts of New Zealand as we approached the southern Alps and Aoraki. Unfortunately, I sat in the back of the van and couldn’t hear some points.

My entire group of six adults thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Christchurch with Simon. His love and knowledge of Christchurch and the surrounding area was obvious. We saw beautiful scenery, incredible views, learned a lot about the 2011 earthquake and its impact on Christchurch, and even got a quick and fun lesson on Māori culture. Simon was easy to communicate with and responsive from booking to pickup. He was even able to adjust our tour on the fly to accommodate some last-minute shopping we wanted to do. I highly recommend this tour and Simon as a tour guide.

My experience with Adventure Junkies was phenomenal - I cannot recommend Russ and his team highly enough!

My sister and I did the 10 Day NZ Adrenalin Tour from Christchurch to Queenstown in October 2023 and everything about the trip was amazing from the small group (4 people), to the witty banter and amazing sights. If you are a thrill seeker, the Adrenalin Tour is for you -the itinerary was packed with awesome activities (including zip lining, bungy jumping and sky diving) but was balanced with a few free afternoons to explore along the way.

There were a few minor changes to our itinerary due to the weather and maintenance works, however this was navigated seamlessly and the alternative activities were just as awesome (I particularly enjoyed the white water rafting substitute of river kayaking).

We were fortunate to have Russ as our guide who is both an awesome guide and lovely human. He was very relaxed and friendly and went out of his way to ensure we had a great time by providing advice and recommendations including on the best places to grab dinner (breakfast and lunch are included!) and sharing his inside knowledge on the best local attractions and photo opportunities! He is also very knowledgeable about New Zealand and enhanced our experience by providing a range of commentary on the various cultural, historical and geological/geographic features of our travels.

I can't wait to head back to New Zealand for my next Adrenalin Junkies trip!
