My husband loved this. They had well over a hundred tractors, all but one runs. Two days a year all the tractors are driven around the grounds and there are some giants here! Amazing. The noise these big fellas make, the power, the history. One "New Zealand" tractor was created from parts. There are brands from all over. Metal wheels. Tracks. The guide, an older lady was bored, followed us around telling us stories. During the earthquake, the tractors were all rolling back and forth, coming alive for the moment. Volunteers maintain and fix these dinosaurs that broke the land, creating the farmland of today.
Take the mechanic and let him (or her) have fun.
