Saint Clair Family Estate Vineyard Kitchen
#9 of 44 Food & Drink in Blenheim
We arrived on bikes and, like all the wineries in the region, they were well used to sweaty bods turning up wanting to sample some wine and to be fed.
We spent a day visiting some vineyards near Renwick by bike, and are so pleased that we included Saint Clair (despite the heat, those extra 10km were well worth it) The setting is stunning, the wines superb, the s...

Clos Henri Vineyard

But we did go on.... On our tour, we did go to a couple of "industrial" wineries, with bigger, fancier operations.
The whole atmosphere is one of intimacy and genuine French charm, very much akin to that of the Loire vineyards where this family business originated, and where they are still based.

They have an eclectic range of wines, with more unusual ones than many of the other wineries in the area, including Brigid, a yummy bubbly and an Albariño.
We would highly recommend this winery and recommend the Bubbles for Beth made especially for their daughters graduation but a firm favourite enough for us to buy a bottle.

The wine tasting area is rustic and so uniquely different to the larger wineries in the area and that is part of its charm.
What we liked was the homely atmosphere, the small building and tasting area made the whole thing more personal than at the larger wineries.
