This was a great tour, very informative, plenty to see and gives a good example of how New Zealand used to be. Worth having a guide to make sense of it all
Definitely try to do this tour. We took the evening walk - timed to maximize the chance to enjoy the sunset, see kiwis, and hear the songbirds. An easy and non-demanding walk, with a team of guides who provided a wealth of information. For a first-time visitor to New Zealand, the level of the country's attention to its environment is stunning. Taking this tour with first-hand exposure puts it in context - a project with a meticulous long-term commitment.
It was an amazing experience - we saw 3 kiwi, 1 morepork and heaps of tuatara, weta and glow worms all really well. Our tour guides Caitlin and Lara were brilliant.
Louis led our tour this morning and it was an excellent way to see Wellington and learn so much about the area and New Zealand. We did a lot of walking in this beautiful city but none of it was strenuous. We chatted the whole tour and time flew by. What beautiful views Wellington has to offer. We really enjoyed taking those back streets and then popping out at places we had read about before the tour. How convenient. We took this tour on our second full day in Wellington. We love how we will be able to carry around the knowledge we received.
Such a wonderful day with Helen. She grew up in Wellington and knows the city’s history and present. Her commentary was full of her love for her city. Besides the information she shared there were cute, funny tales of happenings.
We traveled all around the city which sprawls around the bay. Wellington truly lived up to its moniker “Windy Wellington.” The houses are built on the steep slopes of the hills. It’s very unusual but obviously the only way to expand the city since there are only steep hillsides. The residents must have very strong legs because they are always walking up or down.
Anyway, this private tour is definitely worth it. We loved every minute of it.
A great day out viewing the kapiti coast, very relaxing and informative. Stopping at the car museum, chocolate shop, a wonderful lunch at a Cafe, watched and fed the eels and a stop at a local brewery for some beer tasting. Thank you we all enjoyed our day
We stopped at 3 vineyards and had a sensational lunch with 10 wine tastings and then proceeded to the south coast where we climbed up a lot of steps and saw 30 to 50 fur seals
The tour vehicle arrived punctually at the hotel, and that was the beginning of a brilliant day. The tour vehicle was comfortable and clean, and the actual attractions were terrific. Then we made our way up to the coast and the birds, and it was a good day for travelling, with no so much wind.
We had a wonderful day with Helen! Thank you so much! We had a private tour for the whole day. Helen is a passioniate guide, very generous and know everything about her city. I strongly recommand the tour.
