  • The ranking of tours, activities, and experiences available on Tripadvisor is determined by several factors including the revenue generated by Tripadvisor from these bookings, the frequency of user clicks, and the volume and quality of customer reviews. Occasionally, newly listed offerings may be prioritized and appear higher in the list. The specific placement of these new listings may vary.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The tour was worth it, the guide and shuttle driver was really good and knew his history and information about the area. TripAdvisor was about half the price as it would have cost to go through the cruise event. He got us back to the ship in plenty of time. Thanks

Our guide, Blue, was passionate and informative throughout the trip, keeping it engaging for everyone. The drive to Cape Terawhiti offered exhilarating views, and we highly appreciated the hot beverages and TimTams upon arrival at the coast. Watching the beautiful seals up close made the experience really unforgettable. Great value for money! Highly recommend it to all visitors.

A fun tour, with lots of little details and interesting information related to LOTR. Made the trip to Weta a fuller and more complete experience.

We saw so much of Wellington in the 5 hours we was with Aaron. Luckily it was a beautiful day, so we really appreciated the scenery and had great photo opportunities. From the Weta workshop, the coastline, mountains and tramline, it went smoothly and efficiently. Aaron couldn't have been nicer and really wanted us to migrate here lol! Thank you for the tour, Phil and Matt

We really enjoyed the tour with Phil. You can tell he is enthusiastic about his job and his knowledge is extensive. He picked the best bits of Wellington & the coast. The lunch was fantastic. Appreciated the small group experience and hospitality of the guide and his company.

What an amazing experience!! Was lucky to get a seat on a flight the day of. Perks of travelling solo. Also got to sit right at the front so had spectacular uninterrupted views both straight ahead and to my side. Had a fantastic time and loved every minute of it. Highly recommend to all.

We enjoyed this tour with another couple (very nice Aussie's) guided by Andrew. This trip was way more than expected. Andrew stopped at several Lord of The Rings filming sites including Helm's Deep (a quarry) and provided a LTR tour book to review. We made several scenic overlook stops. Andrew was able to add historical personal references from family history of ANZACs and had a notebook of copies of newspaper clippings relevant to the story. Then we visited three outstanding wineries and ate at Poppie's with a fine charcuterie board including pork belly and our favorite wine choice. We stopped to enjoy a coffee at a local coffee shop and then ventured into an award winning chocolatier that offered samples. The chocolate lemongrass was our favorite. Then on our way back Andrew offered to drive us into Wellington for a quick view of the city and then back to the cruise ship on time. This was a wonderful tour and highly recommended. Kudos to Andrew.

I loved seeing all the animals and I loved how they had paths that were for younger kids and wheelchair accessible and a hiking path and a path for general people who just want to see the animals!

Brian is a life long resident of the area and was a rich source of information. We stopped at a state park where the village of Rivendell in Lord of the Rings was filmed. The set was mostly gone but there were photos from the movie available. We visited 3 wineries for tastings with stops at magnificent viewpoints along the way. Lots of fun with a small group.
