Had a great time. Glad to have Phil as our tour guide..big thumbs up! Phil asked if I could name one highlight of the tour..i still can’t! Too much going on..lunch at the wine yard, chocolate tasting, walking up to the lighthouse and seal searching

We really enjoyed the Cave to Coast Tour with Phillip. Even though we know Wellington quite well this tour took us around the South coast and up to the Brooklyn Wind Turbine which were new experiences. An excellent lunch at The Chocolate Fish and awesome views of the city and the coast.

    Awesome tour!

Phil was very informative, friendly and helpful.
Wineries were lovely! Interesting experiences, fav was definitely Muirlea Rise!

Definitely recommend for anyone in Wellington for a visit and want to see Martinborough but don’t have a lot of time to spend an entire day or overnight.

Before the tour I was not a fan of Pinot Noir. Martinborough has turned me to the dark side.

We were fortunate enough to have found and booked Richard for a 3 hour tour of Wellington. Richard's knowledge of Wellington was excellent and we learnt so much. We highly recommend this tour to everyone who enjoys a bit of local history, current events and fun. Thanks Richard - it was a great 3 hours.

We were picked up by our guide exactly when he said he would be there. He was so full of information and interesting stories. We had a lovely lunch chatting about stories and sites of Wellington. He seemed to know what would interest us and took us there
He genuinely was interested in making sure we had the best day possible
    Thank you

On the bucket list for a while, the only upside of Covid-19 is that we are doing those things in our backyard that were on hold for a time when we may not be as fit as we are now!
At a guess I would say the explorer was somewhere around 40-50% capacity. The upshot of that for travellers was that a lot of couples had the 4 seater tables to themselves.
Travelling from Wellington, there was no apparent requirement to wear masks - no signage or requests and most people didn't. The dining carriage is stocked with Wishbone refreshment, so sandwiches, salads and prepackaged meals that could be heated. Wine and beer was very reasonably priced compared to bars.
The scenery was stunning from start to finish. We were lucky enough to have the viewing car immediately behind us and the dining car immediately at the front, so life was good.
I found the last 2-3 hours a struggle. No scenery, industrial areas on the outskirts of Auckland - I have never seen so many containers in my life. Over the course of the day we were an hour behind schedule and arrival in Auckland was very welcome.
There is a well organised luggage drop off/pick up that felt very safe.
It is important to note that NZ was at it's lowest alert level, so minimal Covid requirements are in place. All staff on the explorer work masks at all times.
We also did the return trip and I think the Auckland to Wellington journey is easier - you have nice scenery coming into Wellington, having got the boring stuff out the way at the beginning of the journey.

An amazing way to see the city. You get to see things you miss from a car and you cover more ground than walking.
Awesome communication right from booking. Hospitable and knowledgeable staff.
    Great quality bikes.
    Excellent value for money.
    Perfect location.

    Highly recommended

Tom was an amazing host. We had the best day. A big high light for me was the seal colony, but also Poppys winery . We will have great memories from our day .
    Thank you Tom :)

Great coffee, watching the magic show for the kids, was actually very funny. Fabulous scenery along the way. Despite rough seas and high winds it was a really pleasant sailing.

Highly recommend this tour. Jon Salter was an excellent guide he was so knowledgeable about the food industry in Wellington. He took us to places that you would NEVER find on your own. A great morning spent exploring different food outlets in Wellington.

    A perfect day out !
We booked the tour as a Christmas Present for our family of adults to enjoy. Tom is a great host for a day - driving us expertly for the day, providing humour and knowledge of the area and our stops.
We enjoyed Chocolates at Kapiti Chocolate Factory / Limoncello tastings.
An exceptional experience and wonderful hosts with olive oil tastings and lunch among the olive trees at Totora Tunnel Olives.
New Ciders to try (dry decilous ) at Elemental Cider rounded off with the famous Tuatara Brewing and tasting paddles - will return and stay longer.

    Thanks Tom, Karen & Geoff
