We had an amazing day with Arrow tours.
We were large getting off the cruise but the new owner Toby drove us to the first stop off point.
Kerry was an excellent guide and made sure that we all enjoyed the day.
I hope that the recent happenings in the world will clear soon and wish you every success.

We arranged the tour online and Wendy met as at our cruise boat dock, perfectly on schedule. It was delightful to spend a wonderful day touring the countryside and visiting Hobbiton. She took care of everything and all we did was show up. As an added bonus we stopped by a honey store for a sample and view of active bees. Wendy is great company and knows the area well. She provided insightful commentary and is very pleasant to be with. Look forward to a return visit.

Gary Stickler, our guide, was most informative and helpful...answering a myriad of questions. The drive was delightful as we passed from Tauranga to Rotorua, w/ great stops along the way.

This was an excellent day out. Keith, our driver and guide made everything easy for us. He was informative and helpful without overwhelming us with information. There were a couple of other minor stops along the way but the highlight by far was Hobbition movie set. We left Keith behind at this point and went on with a Hobbiton guide. I am a fan of LOTR so for me is was extra special but there were non- fans in our tour group who also enjoyed it. the tours are very slick and they manage to put huge numbers through the site without ever making you feel crowded or hurried. Fabulous.

The tour provided by Paora was absolutely brilliant. Learning about how the local community lives and embraces its geothermal environment, as well as the generations that come through really puts in perspective the special maori culture and beliefs they hold. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful day exploring the Waitomo glow worm caves, kiwi sanctuary and the countryside of the Tauranga area.
Our guide Bron was great. She is very informative and makes sure you get to see everything you want....including Hokey Pokey ice cream!
Our tour was almost 7 hours long but the time flew as we enjoyed every minute of it.
We would highly recommend this tour and company!

We had beautiful weather. This is a must to be able to experience the best views. Our guide was good and informative. Downside for anyone unable to walk unaided, not for wheelchair, steps quite steep. Pushchair can manage,
    money we'll spent.
PS: I have both knees reconstructed but able to get around the hilly terrain.

too much time in the van and except for the kiwi farm, not enough time at the wonderful venues we visited: literally 2 mins at the lookout, no time at the honey farm & restaurant to browse or buy an ice cream.
while our tour guide was very knowledgeable, he was difficult to hear as we had NO headsets as mentioned in the tour description. When asked to turn the A/C up, it was meant with a grumbled reply 'I can only do so much'.
    unfortunately, would not recommend.

As the only excursion we pre-booked for our New Zealand cruise, we had high hopes for a great day our whole family of five (including teenagers and a young adult) would enjoy. Stephen met us at the designated time as soon as we got off the ship, and his service from that moment until he dropped us off again 7 or so hours later was excellent. As we were his only booking for the day we virtually had a private driver and tour guide for the day. Nothing was overlooked - he supplied us with bottled water, home packed snacks (including fresh fruit, savory snacks and his wife's home made gluten free brownies that we devoured on the picnic tables at Hobbiton!) Stephen showed us some scenic sights along the way, and on return, offered to take family photographs, had sunscreen and hand sanitiser for our use, and really had thought of everything we could need or want on a day out in Tauranga and Hobbiton. His friendly nature, as well as the little insights and information of the region, made for a relaxed and interesting journey. You also got the feeling that he was interested in who we were as people. Stephen also gave us space to enjoy each site on our own, and was not intrusive. Luckily he was not offended when our teens took a nap along the journey, and he made sure they all had access to the wi-fi in the van as well. Hobbiton itself was fabulous, the attention to detail, tour guide, and whole experience was memorable, whether or not you are a LOTR fan or not. I highly recommend if you are looking for a shore tour, or holidaying in the area that you book through Adventure & Cultural Tours, Bay of Plenty. Stephen even gave us a few recommendations for a self guided day in Auckland which we would not have otherwise thought to visit, and they were a hit with the family as well - thank you Stephen. Frodo has made it into our family photo album of NZ!

This tour booked as part of my cruise activity traveling on the Golden Princess, was a highlight of the trip.
The day spent with Kathrin was a treat. She was mindful of our comfort and very knowledgeable and proud of her city. She took us to some very impressive places. I highly recommend this tour.

I had a wonderful tour off the cruise with this wonderful guy, Pat! The trip was full of information, he'll be there to pick you up, our trip started with the drive to Rotorua and we had a wonderful time there and it is such a fascinating experience to witness Wai-O-Tapu Geothermal, HUGE KiwiFruit farm, and beautiful sceneries(falls, rivers, mountain) on our side trips(For Instagram lol)! The Living Maori Village experience is unforgettable, you get to sing and dance with them and witness the famous "Haka". The Maori people are just like all New Zealanders(Kiwis) and the most friendly and inviting people I have been around. You will appreciate going around with Pat, such an amazing guy I would say. Worth it!!!

We chose to book this tour via Viator rather than through Viking Orion. In fact Viking did not offer a true tour of the glow worm caves. We found the tour guide, who is also the owner of Tauranga Tasting Tours, Paul just fabulous. We were in a small SUV (A very private personal tour) and rode throughout the very beautiful New Zealand Farmland (Though brown from drought). We saw many different items and Paul had significant knowledge of the Maori culture, the farm and dairy industry, Kiwi birds and fruit, glow worms, hydro power and Tauranga industry. This tour is a must. The glow worms were worth the long trip (About 2- 2 1/2 Hours). The tour was very nice. The caves are well guided and the worms were/are beautiful. We did see the pair of Kiwis in their nocturnal habitat. We had to move quickly to meet our cruise times, so we couldn't dally. We also ate local food for lunch that was quite interesting and good. This is a perfect reason why to book outside of the cruise line. The tour was priced better than most tours by Viking and was truly awesome. They got us back in plenty of time to re-embark as well. I cannot say enough good things about Paul.
