Great that they are saving New Zealand's heritage instead of bowling it. A very informative, guided tour. Beautiful buildings and garden.

Fascinating piece of African history with plenty of interesting memorabilia and insights into life in those changing times.

Although small, fresh new building with interesting collections of local artists and Maori culture. Very helpful staff.

Note the address is wrong, this gallery is now in Chapel Street. Went to an exhibition of paintings by the gallery owner, Elliot, and they are stunning. Was delighted to discover that some have poetry enclosed within the painting. Loved everything about this gallery, including Zues the dog, who welcomed us in and was a complete sucker for tummy scritching....

My mate and I went to a Jam Factory show at here back in November and we haven't stopped talking about it since!

We can't wait to return with many more mates for many more wicked times!

We visited on an open day with a fair and a duo playing music. The house is furnished with all household items and clothes as the family left it. It is run by volunteers who are rather aged and slightly muddled but that is part of the fun. The family history is clearly explained but some items were a mystery. A valuable showplace of "how life was". At $5 entrance fee it is worth a visit - usually only opened sundays 2-4 pm

The village has some interesting buildings and church but not enough places to eat or drink coffee or buy an ice-cream.
