Arrived on a Cruise Ship (Arcadia) and covered similar items to those covered by the cruise ship's own tour but in a smaller vehicle and for a much lower price. I have no criticism of the tour or our driver. As is usually the case with independent tours; feedback shared with those on the ship's own tour afterwards, came out very favourably in respect of the independent tour. They are more flexible as to the length and variety of stops (if nobody is interested in a stop you quickly move on rather than have a fixed time stop), and calls can be made at places that cannot accommodate large coaches. My only criticism of this tour was in respect of the guide "allocated" to us at the Maori village; she spent far too long teaching us how to say the name of the village (repeated during the show), then took far too long explaining other things about her relatives, then followed some other tours that meant we could not get close to items worth viewing, then arrived at the show so late that we ended up behind all the other tours. This was not the fault of Zealander; we were just unlucky, and could have been allocated a better guide. A worthwhile day trip.
