Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We rented two bikes and went on a Aratiatia walkway trail (17 km). It was an awesome experience, highly recommend. Just the right amount of excitement. Bart at Four B mountain bike hire gave us a great service and lots if useful information. Thank you mate.

The Hire was so easy. The location meant it was simple to find and had plenty of parking outside. The bikes were in great condition and were ready to go as soon as we arrived. The helmets were adjustable and comfy. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Enjoyed the trip down the west side of the lake. Currents were strong but we where lucky to get out in the small window available for the day having being postponed the day before.

Excellent communication and loved the Google maps and the heater was a must.

    Recommend for all.

We hired bikes from Bikes on Taupo. The two people were wonderfully efficient getting us all kitted up with bikes the right size, helmets, instructions etc.
We had a sensational day for our jaunt - not a cloud in the sky. We had such a good time, the bikes were in great condition - very easy to bike. The bike path around a section of the lake is fabulous - clean, great surface and predominantly flat too.
We all had a fantastic time!
    Thanks Bikes on Taupo

I really enjoyed my easy kayak along the freshwater stream. This is self guided. You begin in an aquaduct before popping out into a small stream which feels like you're miles from civilization. The gentle current slowly moves you along, you only need to steer. If you're a novice kayaker you can do this! There's plenty to see, native plants and animals and thermal activity. It's a must-do.

Torpedo7 did a great job of setting us up with 2 mountain e-bikes for a short ride to Huka Falls. After getting verbal directions from the shop guy we head out. That’s when things got ugly.

Because they didn’t have a map and we obviously didn’t listen as clearly as we needed to, we ended up riding very challenging trails to Huka Falls. What we were told would take 30 mins took us 2 hours and for this first time mountain bike rider it was pure hell. Once we made it to Huka Falls we were able to look at a map and see the correct way back.
