Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely fantastic holiday, with the best owners/tour guides I've ever met. We went on a really comprehensive tour of the South Island, and being in a 4x4 van rather than a large coach meant that we could go to many places that are not on the usual tourist map. Using large tents rather than hotels also kept the price right down, making it excellent value.
It was so good that we are going to have to return to do the North Island tour.

Can't recommend this kayaking experience up the Waitara River. Nick and Tee were so patience with us and made the morning so much fun. For a couple of oldies we loved it so much!

What a treat! Taranaki is absolutely stunning and flying over Mt Taranaki with Jim is a must. The experience is unforgettable, exciting and breathtaking. Jim is professional, kind and friendly and makes even the most nervous passenger feel comfortable and safe! Thank you Jim, this was incredible!!!

Matt guided us on the most amazing flight around part of the Alps. Absolutely breathtaking views and an exhilarating ride. Matt gave us very indepth information about the sights during the flight. I would highly recommend any of the flight packages Precision Helicopter Ltd offer.

James from Egmont Travel took our family on a tour off the world famous Egmont Honey Factory. We all had a wonderful time getting an insight from James on how the whole process works from bee to jar. Thanks to the team at Egmont Honey for been so hospitable the kids loved it and I highly recommend adding this onto your trip to Taranaki.

An absolute must do for everyone to lives in or visits Taranaki.

Take the most beautiful scenic drive up through the wyndy road through the Bush until you reach the Egmont Visitors Centre (although there are plenty of spots to start other walks along the way).
Here you will find ample free parking (unless it is snowing then you will be lucky to move;), the visitors centre with extremely helpful staff with a wide knowledge on the mountain and walks which would suit you.

There are ample tracks all with varying distances and times and for all fitness levels and ages.

You really can't beat mount taranaki!!

I signed up my son for a surf course with Daisy. The group of students was quite mixed - some beginners and some more advanced. She and her team was still able to give every student the required attention.
In the 4 days the kids made really great progress. My son is now a very confident surfer!
Thanks to Daisy and her team!

I was lucky enough to spend a day's fishing on the Waiwhakaiho River at Balsom Park, New Plymouth. It is a delightful place - peaceful and tranquil. I booked a local fishing guide - Adam Priest - and he supplied me with all the gear I needed. I learnt so much about river fishing. For instance, the food the fish eat and where they feed in the river. We worked our way upstream crossing the river several times. It was a great experience! Adam was an amazing guide and very knowledgeable. Here is his website with a price guide. I did the half day trip but probably needed longer.
