Fantastically beautiful area. The most incredible colours and war water wherever you look. We had the perfect weather and were very lucky to enjoy this impressive landscape. Fantastic colourful terrain.

We had the most amazing time. Every moment was truly enjoyable & the hosts who shared their knowledge of Māori history & culture were not only enlightening & educational but also heart warming & hilarious. We were blown away by the level of talent displayed throughout the night through song, dance & demonstrations. The opportunity to interact with games in the beautiful village setting at night was so much cooler than we expected. This is definitely something to do with your whole family.

Loved this very informative with a guide. It was amazing learning the history of Māori right down to carving and weaving, the work that goes into it all was unreal! The geysers were cool to look at and lying on the heated rock was something different! We finished off our tour with steamed pudding. Would come and do again.

The forest has a such a nice feeling! I did the most basic walk, the 30 minute Redwood Memorial Grove track. The redwoods are amazingly tall and they're joined by native New Zealand plants. There was even a steaming pond as a reminder that you're in Rotorua. It's an easy enough walk and is a great way to be at one with nature. It's a popular place with both tourists and locals, with the result that it never feels like you're alone in the bush. Highly recommended!

I loved this attraction, both for what it is and for where it is. It was easy to get to using a bus from the centre of the CBD (I caught bus #3, which stopped at the end of the road to the forest area). The small information centre where tickets are purchased had friendly staff, and there are souvenirs for sale there, including clothing. There is also a cafe, although this was not open when I visited.

The treetop walk itself is reasonably priced. There are more than one option. I chose the daytime lower walk, which was a good starting point for someone not too happy at heights. I found the lower walk to be fine, and would possibly now consider doing the higher option (but glad I didn't sign up for that before seeing how high it is!). It's a lovely walk across the bridges that span from tree to tree. After completing it, the location has plenty of walks through the forest, with track directions and lengths clearly labelled to make it easy to find your way around. Of course, walking through the tracks around the treewalk is no charge as just forestry area, so adds to the treewalk experience. It is possible to also do this experience at night, which I believe would be lovely so will be back to try that another time. Give it a go - it's a great time out for individuals, groups and families.

We loved the fact that people actually live and work in this village.
    Enjoyed the show put on.
Make sure you go and do the boardwalk through the geothermal site down the bottom, well worth the walking involved.

A very humbling walk through the magnificent steaming lakes, bubbling streams and geezers. The climb up to the top of the hill to view the lake is well worth it to take in the scale of the area and rest with an incredible outlook.

The paths are exceptionally well maintained and all the staff knowledgeable on the geology and ecological aspects of maintaining the beauty of the reserve.

Excellent pool complex with 6 pools at different temperatures plus personal spas and a cafe. The bush outlook is gorgeous. Great value considering you could stay all day if you wanted! You'll need a car to get out there but the 25min country drive is really nice.

The staff were so friendly and enthusiastic. Enjoyed our wine tasting with the view of blue lake and Rotorua. Would recommend to anyone heading up the gondola or visiting Rotorua

The museum is currently closed but there is plenty to see around the gardens. It's a nice place for a pleasant stroll, and the Rachel Spring Whangapipiro is an interesting hot spring to check out (from a safe distance).

A great block of eateries and pubs, plenty to choose from in an awesome setting down by the lake. A place to peruse, eat, drink, socialise and be.

The lakefront area is getting a makeover, with a new boardwalk being laid down. But the already completed part was there and make an early morning walk really enjoyable.

The track is very well maintained and easy. It covers most of the blue lake and at one point the green lake can be seen.

Very cute trip. Interesting historical trip and a really cool idea to put together! I thought they were very well maintained, and the guide was friendly. Also really liked that the cars were for each group, even if there had been a lot of people it would still have been a nice family experience for us.
The one thing I found was the train cars were a little loud to hear the commentary very well - maybe headphones or something would allow this to be better heard since it is very interesting!

Stunning day, passionate people, informative and interesting. Up close and personal with some of our threatened New Zealand birds . We came away with so much to think about. Well organised, great communication and thoroughly enjoyable. Possibly more suited to older children rather than little ones.

Such a great cause to support too. Thank you
