We enjoyed it a lot throughout the trip. We covered both North and South Islands, made few customizations and our guide RV handled them perfectly. He added his own stops and hidden spots for us to take postcard perfect photos. Hobbiton was very beautiful as was Milford Sound. The best activities on our trip were the Redwood Tree Walk, the Glowworm Cave and visiting Mt. Cook. The glacier lake was mesmerizing. RV made out 10 days wonderful and was very kind to our requests. We got great views from each side of the plane. it was a brilliant 80th birthday present for my husband and an early birthday present for me. - Trail588616121491 contributionSteve, our pilot was amazing, knowledgeable and so keen to give us the best experience. He ensured we all got great views, turning the plane around time and again so we could each get that amazing picture. He shared his flying experiences with us that made the flight over the water so interesting, and looked out for whales and dolphins for us (regrettably there weren’t any). We would highly recommend this flight as the geological contrast between White Island and Mount Tarawera was surprising in both colour and shape and was fully appreciated from the air. Our pilot Steven was a fantastic aviator and knowledgeable guide, he expertly flew us around showing us the beautiful landscape including around Rotorua and Mt Tarawera. We really enjoyed the exploration around Orakei Korako too. The takeoffs and landings in the float plane were so fun to experience. I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Rotorua.
