It was awesome. Forgot to post review last year. Wanted to run around and do it again. Would totally recommend it. One of my highlights of NZ tour.

Jas and Lisa were awesome. They made it fun and entertaining but keeping safety in mind.

Educating us on how they’re protecting the forest from invasive species which was interesting.

Wish we had more time to do the more extreme course!

It was a very relaxing visit with many pools to choose from. The view was beautiful and the chill afternoon was exactly what we needed after driving for so many hours that day. It did start getting crowded late afternoon, not too long after we arrived, and it did get noisey. We opted to head out at that time. I think once it’s starting to fill, it’s not quite as enjoyable.

A very long day, but well worth the experience. 13 hours from pick-up to drop-off (bad traffic on the return journey didn’t help) with some great experiences on the journey.

The Waitomo caves are a unique place, even though we've done cave trips before. Our local guide was very passionate about the place & gave us plenty of information about the history & environment. A very memorable visit, though you aren’t allowed to take any pictures in the caves.

On to Rotarua, with a brief stop at Arapuni Dam & Suspension Bridge (not for the faint-hearted!).

Quick lunch at Te Puia cafe before a 90 minute guided tour of the geysers, kiwi conservation centre (only real chance to see kiwis) & Maori culture centre. Our guide obviously enjoyed his role & was very knowledgeable about the place.

Quick tour of Rotorua before heading back to the city.

Our guide & driver, Matt was brilliant, giving us plenty of local info along the way, as well as letting us snooze a bit too! Van was a very comfy Mercedes.

    A fabulous day overall.

This is a great place to see and learn about kiwi birds, including their life cycle. We got to see a "health check" on a newly born kiwi bird.

We thought this was really great. The reason for coming to Rotorua was to see the geysers and the boiling mud and all the volcanic stuff. This experience is not cheap (around $95 for each person) but well worth it. We thought initially that we would be able to just wander around on our own but they only offered a guided tour but that turned out to be a good option. To be honest, the guided tour was a little rushed but the thing to do is to go in the morning about 11, take the 11 o’clock tour, be shown around and then you are free to walk all the way around the site again on your own. So at that point we went and got our lunch from the car, brought it in and had a picnic and then walked around at our leisure. We were able to do this without any crowds and in the end we stayed about four hours altogether. Highlights are the kiwi enclosure – we had to go back again to have a really good look at a kiwi, but one came out on cue and bustled around for our benefit. The other reason for going back is to see the geysers which spurt up about once an hour and are truly spectacular. It’s potluck whether you get to see a geyser doing its stuff when you were on the tour but if you go back, you can take your time . All in all a really good experience and good value. We didn’t do the Māori cultural experience but you can see a bit of it because it takes place outside the hall on the lawn so you can see that bit for free.

This is an entertaining show, featuring especially sheep, but also a dog and some geese. It is informative but also fun and funny. After the show, guinea pigs, bunnies, cows, and lambs are on display. Some audience participation is involved. The gift shop is ok.

We got the combo tour as we wanted to have a walk around the lakes. Guided tour with a knowledgeable local person who explained to us the insights of the village. You will taste some thermal boiled corn and a bonus free view of the geyser, which is not on the premises of the village, but you can get a free view. If you do the tour between 10 am and 1 pm, you can enjoy a free show including traditional maori dance and haka.

Overall a positive experience, many thermal pools to choose from. The best part of our romance package was my facial. I had a lovely lady called Anita
She was brilliant. A pricey day out but enjoyable

I really enjoyed the day at Hobbiton and enjoyed the tour guide providing us with various interesting facts about New Zealand on our drive over.

The only piece of feedback I would provide is that there should be a better notification system to let people know if the driver will be late or if there will be delays with regards to the pick-up. I booked this tour a couple months before and I didn't receive any emails, from the company, the day of, confirming that the trip would still be happening. The driver was late at no fault of his own, due to traffic, but because I didn't receive any emails from the company, I had no idea if the tour was still running as scheduled and had to call them several times to get confirmation.

Other than this issue, I enjoyed the tour and would recommend it to others!

Ellie and Ethan were top notch guides. Very caring and helpful. They were safety oriented and taught us about the flora and fauna of New Zealand. I will do this again!!

Excellent guide. Knowledge base and humour was much appreciated. Drove into forest in the dark. Glow Worms were amazing, but we saw so much more. Wallabies and spiders. The time taken by guide was great so everyone could take lots of photos. Best tour I have been on.

I had visited Te Puia when last visited NZ. This time, I had picked Wai-O-Tapu but decided not to drive half way back to Taupo and there were reviews about how their geyser was activated with soap. So instead we went to Hell’s Gate for the guided Geothermal Walk. We arrived at opening time 10am and already there was a queue. But only because the staff take their time with each customer - only took 10 minutes to get in. There’s a little cafe and souvenir shop while you wait for the 10.30am tour.

Guide with the long name, Ngati, was fantastic. The tour was advertised as 1.5 hours, but ours took 2 hours. We loved every minute of it. Ngati makes the place come alive and how it integrates with Māori life. You don’t need to see a geyser to tick it off your list. Don’t rush around in half the time on a self-guided tour - you’d miss all the little things that Ngati explained - from the bubbling and steaming earth and mud pools, to the plants and birds. The bush walk was a serene interlude and Medicine Lake magical. You can do some wood carving afterwards or add on the mud pool experience. We left very happy with our visit to Hell’s Gate.
