Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Jessica_nz2Christchurch, New Zealand224 contributionsWell worth a visit, a good range of geothermal activity all in one park. Amazing place. You have to drive to lady Knox but that was orderly and the staff were great. Lots of information boards. Especially like the green pool.Written 30 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JasonCanberra, Australia122 contributionsOur family of four did the afternoon tour and dinner package. The tour started with a walk through what is essentially a cultural trade school where students are learning traditional crafts. It was quite interactive. We then went and saw a kiwi and on to the thermal springs which were quite spectacular.
The buffet dinner was good with a lot of variety. Finally there was a traditional show with dancing and singing. A good insight into Maori culture without being too in depth or heavy.Written 6 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Would recommend:) Mostly gentle downhill walk - fabulous views and a lovely relaxing cruise - including crater and geyser with bus back.Written 6 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 007adventureRaglan, New Zealand48 contributionsI love the deluxe spa for its tranquility, views over the lake, free use of lockers and towels, access to the Priests Pool and heated recliners!.
Treatments are relaxing and also rejuvenating after a several hours soaking .
Highly recommend the Deluxe pools and spaWritten 21 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - TheLeongOhanaUnited States7,497 contributionsIt was a rainy day when we wandered through the park.
There were different groupings of pools from bubbling mud and steaming water. Due to the cold weather and rain it created a thick fog that was quite warm and a little stifling the closer we got to one of the larger pools.
The foot baths were closed in May so did not get to try them.
Overall the park was a good intro to the thermal activity in Rotorua, close by our hotel/downtown and free.Written 23 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The show is about 10 minutes and they make it explode by adding soap. Still cool.
You drive past the entrance to the gyzer, don't go down - you have to go to the visitors center first, show them your ticket and then drive back up the road to park at another carpark to get the gyzer. You then drive back to the vistor center to go to the park.Written 6 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Soaking in these waters is thought to have medicinal value although you cannot do so at this site.Written 8 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LivakiwiUpper Hutt, New Zealand51 contributionsIt was a nice experience for us because we were almost the only couple there. You can certainly hear the birds chirping and singing, but there is no shower and there were lots of sand flies in the entry end, which is the hottest part of the pool.
Plan to go either very early or very late in the day. Otherwise it can be too hot.Written 17 February 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
