Grant did a Fabulous job of organizing the day so that everyone got the most of what they wanted to experience. I would highly recommend the geothermal park as it was fascinating and Grant gave us a personal tour. The gondola was a relaxing end to the day in Rotorua. It is a long day but well worth the trip. Exceptional company!

Gary Stickler, our guide, was most informative and helpful...answering a myriad of questions. The drive was delightful as we passed from Tauranga to Rotorua, w/ great stops along the way.

Jafa here, 24th January was my birthday and decided to spend time in Rotorua for the day. It was a bloody hot day but I really enjoyed exploring both Waiotapu Thermal Wonderland and Te Puia which came with free buffet lunch... yum yum!! Then, we did brief Rotoroa Lake and City tour but ended up staying at a park for over an hour as another driver who was meeting us at Matamata was held up on another tour.

With regard to the seats in bus, the one that took us from Auckland to Hobbiton stopover I sat in the single seat chair and found it really uncomfortable. It wasn't wide enough to fit in and lock my seat belt in. :( At a quick stop before Hobbiton, I asked to move over to front seat (next to driver) and was so relieved and lucky to sit there most of the trip except from Matamata to Auckland. Front seat was unavailable, so I sat at the back and realised they were large seats, they appeared to be wider than seats in front of me? I was not complaining :-)

Lastly, we had different drivers throughout the day and each of those drivers took care of us which really made our day, thank you team! :-)

Had an amazing day with Grant as our tour guide. He had snack for us since our tour starts so early, and greeted each one of those pick up with the biggest smile! He was nice, funny and knowledgeable about the country - got lots of inside info about NZ. Hobbiton was fun and Wal-O-Tapu was gorgeous. Absolutely loved my experience!

Simon was early to pick us up at our hotel and over all a total blast to ride with. Lots of great information, but didn't talk the entire time. Very attentive to breaks and drink/food needs. The springs and mud bath are stunning and the spa is extremely relaxing.

ALERT: this is one of the, if not the, best tour you will ever have in New Zealand. Stephen, the tour guide, is passionate and continues to do this tour despite COVID's effects on tourism. The cost/price is more reasonable than other tours around NZ.

You may think that the highlight was seeing hundreds of glowworms from a few centimeters away near waterfalls but this wasnt the case. Dont get me wrong, that was spectacular but the trip itself was extraordinary.

Stephen picked us up from the tourists help centre on time. He drove us in a very comfortable high tech specialised van. He handed us different types of tourches and we walked about 2Km in the dark; including our 3 and a half year old child. You aim your tourch up to see the trees forming a bridge hiding the whole sky from you. We saw tens of wallabies (tiny kangaroo like creatures) hopping meters away from us, Wetta like insect shells (forgot their names) and different types of trees and plants. Ive been in New Zealand for 21 years and this was the first time I saw the real Silver Ferns; they arent as evident in day light. You end the journey with hot chocolate to replenish your energy.

I cannot recommend this tour enough. Thank you Stephen for the hollywood like photos you took of our family in the dark :)

Brilliant day out both at Wai-O-Tapu and Waimangu valley. Keith the driver was excellent, very informative and knew how to time our visits to get the most from the day.
Waimangu Valley really spectacular, happily come back again.

The tour provided by Paora was absolutely brilliant. Learning about how the local community lives and embraces its geothermal environment, as well as the generations that come through really puts in perspective the special maori culture and beliefs they hold. Highly recommend.

Andrew was an awesome tour guide! We were picked up at our resort and off we went. Andrew have a great commentary about NZ all along the drive. He remembered our names and made sure to engage us and ask questions to keep the conversation going.
The Glow Worms tour was awesome. It was better than I expected! Back in the bus and over to Hobbiton.
Hobbiton was everything you could hope for. Very magical and fun. Andrew kept us informed of our tour times and was very accommodating throughout.
Highly recommend New Zealand Discovery Tours.

What a fantastic tour to get to Rotorua which I was staying for the weekend. Ended up being the only one on the bus so had a lovely privatised tour! Mike was my driver and I can't express enough what a lovely time I had. He was knowledgeable and great to have a chat on our drive. Hobbiton was more than what I expected and Te Puia was a great little cultural place and if your lucky they may have some kiwis in the sanctuary. Overall it was a great experience and highly recommend to any one travelling to Rotorua.

Arrived on a Cruise Ship (Arcadia) and covered similar items to those covered by the cruise ship's own tour but in a smaller vehicle and for a much lower price. I have no criticism of the tour or our driver. As is usually the case with independent tours; feedback shared with those on the ship's own tour afterwards, came out very favourably in respect of the independent tour. They are more flexible as to the length and variety of stops (if nobody is interested in a stop you quickly move on rather than have a fixed time stop), and calls can be made at places that cannot accommodate large coaches. My only criticism of this tour was in respect of the guide "allocated" to us at the Maori village; she spent far too long teaching us how to say the name of the village (repeated during the show), then took far too long explaining other things about her relatives, then followed some other tours that meant we could not get close to items worth viewing, then arrived at the show so late that we ended up behind all the other tours. This was not the fault of Zealander; we were just unlucky, and could have been allocated a better guide. A worthwhile day trip.
