What travellers are saying
- Alison TAuckland, New Zealand33 contributionsI visited the Amokura Glass shop last weekend whilst on holiday in Rotorua and was excited to return the following day for a one on one glass blowing class to make a pumpkin. The girls were friendly, patient and helpful and it was relatively cheap for such an extraordinary experience. Will definitely be back again. Thank youWritten 4 February 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- lian0675 contributionsHusband and I each wanted a peace of pounamu to remember our trip to Rotorua for wedding anniversary. Great service here - we’re talked through origins of pounamu, different types and treatments, meaning of carvings. Very happy with our purchases; can recommend this place. ThanksWritten 6 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- tasgardHobart, Australia196 contributionsA visit to the Jelly Belly store was prompted by thoughts of our Grandchildren. The store is rather full on Jelly Belly themed with garish colours, tempting displays and Jelly Belly Art. If you go up on the Gondola to the Skyline complex you cannot miss the store.
The prices are a little on the high side but as tourists you are only there the once so it doesn’t matter. We bought a selection of sweets that you don’t normally find elsewhere. Worthwhile a visit just to look around, even if you don’t buy.Written 8 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - maureenstevens2018Blenheim, New Zealand34 contributionsThis shop has recently moved to current location. I don't think there was a coffee shop attached, but who has time for coffee when there is so much to look at in this shop, and everything is so enticing. The staff members were very attentive and no question was a bother.Written 9 November 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- JayJay015Melbourne, Australia312 contributionsWe took our rock loving children here when in Rotorua - this place is full to the brim with interesting pieces. We spent a good half an hour just working through the rooms full, lots of great history in there as well. We had a long chat to the very passionate, very devoted owner, nicknamed 'Rock' who is full of interesting information and facts about the geological and geothermal history of the area. He really knows his stuff! Even if it is not an stong interest it is worth the visit to buy or just admire gemstones, kauri gum or fossils. Perfect for a rainy day!Written 12 July 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- JonesyPalmerston North, New Zealand119 contributionsI recently took up the opertunity to participate in a carve your own pounamu activity.
This was an staining, fun and satisfying thing to do. At $190 for the day, lunch included I designed my piece was given a stone to put it on then guided through the process of ponamu carving from cutting and shaping right through to carving and polishing my piece. I did 2 days of carving with Charlie Marsh, he is an excellent carver and teacher. The whole team there were amaizing, and friendly, they all treat you like part of the team. At the end of the day I left with my own carving to wear or gift to someone that would easily cost 2 to 3 times the cost of the days activity. When ever I return to the shop it's like being part of their family and they are all happy to pass on knowledge. Each time I return they pass on more knowledge.
I'd recommend this as a solo or small 2 to 3 person group activity.Written 24 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - lanieylesRotorua, New Zealand2 contributionsA great spot to shop if you`re after an arty momento from your trip or an original piece of NZ art.
