Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A really great experience for me and my wife. Will bring more family back up next time. Every New Zealander must visit at some point.

We loved it! Stayed at Busby Manor. Highly recommended. Visited Russell via the car ferry, had the most delicious lunch at The Duke of Edinburgh and visit the printing museum as well as the Russell Museum . So informative. KeriKeri market on the Saturday is a must as well as the Parrot Place. Hururu Falls a short walk and beautiful. Lovely walks on the beach every day . Sadly we missed the hole in the wall boat trip but it remains on our bucket list. Worth it!

Nancy was amazing. We only had a short amount of time in Bay of Islands and she organised i trip to see dolphins and suggested the best winery in the area for lunch. We enjoyed our trip. Thank you Nancy

We had a wonderful day sailing in the Bay of Islands out to the bird sanctuary island. Mid-spring is windy and cool, but ponchos and warm drinks sustained us for a great day. Simple but satisfactory lunch was served on reaching the island. Great sailing skills the whole way.

A gorgeous day on the water. There was a commentary with a bit of history about sailors, farming and conservation in the area. Fun squeeze through the hole in the rock and a tribute to the lady of the sea. Fun atmosphere, safe and comfortable. Dolphin pod swam by. Worth every moment.

Highly recommend. Great time on the water seeing the bay, on a character sailing ship, felt like a pirate! 🤣 Oh, arrrrgh…
Crew great, service great, very cool. Would definitely do it again.

Such a great experience, can’t believe I jumped out a plane at 18,000 ft. The staff were all really friendly and my sky diving instructor Prashant was very experienced and I felt safe jumping with him. He was also cracking some jokes on the way up to the attitude which helped with the nerves. Would definitely recommend this experience to anyone who is considering it and start big and throw yourself at the 18,000 ft more free fall time and a great view.

This is the fastest boat to the hole in the rock lasting only 90 mins. It was a fast paced adventure bump by bump over the waves. Great commentary from the skipper. Life jackets and shower protective coats provided. This was a fun trip but not for the faint hearted or frail!

I booked this on a whim after reading about it in the lonely planet (I know right, retro AF) for the next day. There is something truly blissful about this wee trip out into the most gorgeous part of NZ I've seen so far. I think that the price range leaves you with a lush group of people as opposed to those who might be more used to chartering boats for weeks at a time and this led to a lovely mix on board. I was travelling on my own and was a little worried that it was mainly families but that was brand. The team are super attentive and chatty throughout. The activities are all super accessible and fun. The wine is cheap! Food was great and plentiful. But the relaxed atmosphere makes it in my opinion and I came off feeling so chilled. Might have to apply for a job! Thanks everyone

Brilliant trip from start to finish. The skipper and crew were welcoming, friendly and brilliant at getting us confidant on the catamaran which enabled us to enjoy the day fully. We watched a pod of dolphins swimming and playing. We couldn't swim with them as they had a baby with its mother, but we watched for the allotted time. The information the crew were able to give us was brilliant. It made the most of the wildlife we encountered during the day. We moored off Motorua Island and were transferred to land by swimming or dinghy. The walk to the top of the Pa gave stunning 360 degree views of the Bay of Islands. Then back for a BBQ'd lunch on board before sailing back to Paihia. Fantastic. When we return to New Zealand we will look forward to sailing with Carino again. Thank you Vanessa and your crew.

Nice and friendly guides, wonderful experience and very supportive guys who ran the tour. Changed the schedule in time because of low tide.

I had an absolute blast! Couldn't have asked for a better day out on the water, the skipper (tammy) has very good knowledge of the wildlife and her commentary was amazing, I would happily recommend this to my family and freinds 10/10 from me

Rich took us around the islands on the ski and it was so worth it. We had a bit of everything - sun, wind, calm, swell and it was great. We saw a helicopter doing multiple trips dropping off concrete to workers building a ramp on an island, we saw little lambs on another island, we saw a whole bunch of snapper just chilling around a jetty. Urupukapuka island was a highlight - sipping a coffee looking at the clear water in the sunlight is a memory that’ll stick. I’ve been to Paihia 6 times and reckon this was the best thing to do. If you’re looking for adventure, skip the ferry tour to the hole in the rock and do this instead! You’ll get more thrills, a more personalised experience, learn more about the islands, all with a cool local, Rich. You also get closer to the islands and hears the birds rather than screaming past everything to look at something that looks exactly like it does on every photo around town lol. Definitely worth the bit extra and you’ll be on a high for the rest of the day. 😄

It was a long day starting at 830 and finishing at 10 pm. Cindy was or four guide for Auckland and beyond tours. She couldn't have been more helpful ensuring we had appropriate stops and snacks. The boat ride was really nice coinciding with a local music festival that made it interesting.. There were 5 of us in total in a large estate car which worked well. Cindy was also very informative with lots of local knowledge. Although she is new to being a tour guide she was first class
