Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amazing and informative boat trip! The highlight was all the island stop overs and the hole in the rock, but also cruising alongside a full pod of dolphins!

Great experience. Beautiful views and photo opportunities from waterfalls to forests and the glow worm caves were extremely impressive.

Great trip, fun guide, Willy. A good way to go to the far north because you don’t have to drive yourself! I had the salad for lunch and it was good. I was picked up in Coopers Beach.

We had seen a few YouTube videos of this cruise before we left the UK for our trip to NZ and it seemed an obvious choice for the first morning of our stay in the Bay of Islands. We booked online in the UK and found it simple to do. Just mention your name to a staff member in the Fullers tour office by the dock area and they give you a receipt and yellow bands to wear on the boat.

We set off on time at 0830 and gradually made our way past 10-12 islands with a commentary given by the boat staff. The sea became very choppy when we left the harbour area so we weren’t able to experience going through the hole in the rock but the captain did a good job getting us close. We had a good sighting of about 5 dolphins so that was great.

On the way back we landed on the main island for a drink and a walk looking at the beauty of the area from a high viewpoint.

    Thoroughly enjoyed our day.

Super cool trip through the glow worm cave and ith an excellent guide to relate local traditional knowledge about the origin and history of the cave system.

Excellent captain and crew, very comfortable ship, and absolutely beautiful views from the ship and the tops of 2 islands!

Best morning weather in 6 weeks (tick); saw whales - mother and calf (tick); saw seals (tick); saw a penguin (tick); saw dolphins (tick); were able to go through the hole in the rock (tick). Add in an informative and witty commentary from the skipper and we had it all within an hour of leaving Paihia! We can thoroughly recommend the tour especially if you have the luck that we had - a great few hours in and around the bay.

Luke and his team were incredible guides! So welcoming, comforting and easy to talk to. We really enjoyed how the team engaged with everyone and brought such great sense of humour, knowledge and great vibes throughout the whole 6hr trip!

We absolutely loved how times we were educated throughout the trip and also given alone time to take in the incredible views!

Honestly! We would go back on this tour over and over again to visit different islands as long as it was with Luke and his team!

Looking for a fun, chilled and educated tour with comfort, service and laughter! This is definitely the tour!

Our tour guide Cici brought the events surrounding the Waiting Treaty signing to incredible life! She kept us all riveted to the story, incorporated information about the involvement of our countries at the time, gave a plethora of information and had an incredibly funny sense of humor to boot! Eight of us on an Overseas Adventure Tour extended excursion to the Bay of Islands very much enjoyed Cici's guiding - one of the best, if not THE best, guides I've ever had! Thank you, Cici! You are a gem!

Relaxing, friendly and informative. The perfect way to enjoy some of Northland’s vineyards and breweries.
Our tour guide was so knowledgeable about the areas history while driving to each location.
Delicious food at Marsden estate paired with a range of white and red wines. Tall tales and boutique wines at Fat Pig. Phat Brewery’s spacious bar and beer garden has something for all ages, popular with locals.

There’s so much to see here! Allow at least 2 hours. Cafe is really nice too! Guided tour was excellent and how Cece could remember all the talking points is surreal. Very informative and highly recommend this along with the cultural performance

We arrived at Paihia earlier than expected and the company was very good at accommodating an earlier tour for us. Our driver was Wayne, who was completely crazy, in the best possible way! We roared off to Kawakawa to visit the Hundertwasser toilets and have a quick look around the town. We then roared back to Paihia via the Opua boat marina. The corners and hills at top speed were an absolute thrill and dad and I loved every minute of it! We felt safe and comfortable with Wayne, who was obviously a very experienced driver! Highly recommend!
