- Dot HIpswich, UK209 contributionsA very informative and fun filled afternoon tour. There were just 8 of us in the group and we were guided by John who was very knowledgeable and good fun. We visited 4 different establishments: Brookfield ( a family run boutique winery and the best), a brewery where we also had snacks of wedges and nachos (not just beer, alcopops also available, Church road winery and finally Mission winery. All very different. Plus local sights and stories. In fact the centre is full of these beautifully restored buildings that you don't need the tour for this. The driver/guide explained all about the economy of Napier, the effects of the 1929 earthquake, and reclamation of land. Maggie was amazing with the help she gave me while trying to organize 13 people (who ended up 11) with different likes etc. We did a day tour from the Celebrity Edge. Our guide for the day was Tere who was exceptional. Amazing personality and knowledge. Thanks Maggie.
