Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Jeanette H71 contributionsWhat a lovely little zoo! Well cared for pathways suitable for parents with prams. More importantly good enclosures with room to move, natural habitat and even toys for birds and animals to keep theirminds active. Staff are really caring and passionate about the animals. Nice little gift dhop and cafe. Well worth the$20 for adult entry fee.Written 24 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Joy1 contributionHad such an amazing time at the Hamilton Sculpture Park - we went for one of the many craft workshops they host and got to meet so many creative, talented people and try Saori weaving for the first time.
It was such a memorable experience learning something new in the peaceful surrounds the sculpture park has to offer.
Thank you for organising Sue, and for being such a welcoming host. I'd recommend their workshops to anyone.Written 3 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rebecca14 contributionsLovely walk, not difficult, lovely little pond with ducks and we fed the chickens near the arrival carpark. Good for dogs (must be on leads) and some beautiful views from the lookout pointWritten 8 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Donald M2 contributionsVisiting Inspirit Gallery is a regular treat on my Sunday morning rounds.
The gallery features many leading arts and crafts specialist wares from around the country, and I often find something to admire, or buy.
It is also a very special place with a unique river valley Waikato country outlook, and Jenny who runs it is spirited and knowledgeable, always good for a chat too.
One of my favourite Waikato destinations for sure, and one connected to a number of others of interest and merit nearby in this most beautiful part of the Waikato countryside.Written 4 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We have been coming here for 3 years in a row now, to pick lavender and blueberries. Quiet areas to sit & enjoy the scenery, easy walking & a little shop full of lavender goodies. There is also edible lavender!Written 14 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- platypus150Melbourne, Australia32,398 contributionsWith terraces sweeping down to the river, this open space has memorials to Maori culture, seating, and mural art. It is a quiet place, close to food shops and the main road.Written 14 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kevin PWaihi Beach, New Zealand479 contributionsThe Te Awa River Trail is an outstanding all weather cycle trail that runs from the rowing centre of excellence at Lake Karapiro through Cambridge, Hamilton Gardens all the way to Ngaruawahia. There are good views of the river much of the way. The surface is either concreted or tiled making it a fast surface to ride on (much better than the gravelled Otago Rail Trail).
There are very regular points of interest (numerous pa sites, battle sites, the Te Rapa mega dairy production site) along the way. There are regular (every 1-2h) and cheap public bus return options ($6pp) and the buses all come with bike carriers.Written 16 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Then we wandered through the gardens. A beautiful day and well worth travelling two hours to the gardens.Written 18 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Godfrey BHamilton, New Zealand4 contributionsThis was a world class experience that had the fascination of science, horticulture, entrepreneurship, beautiful gardens and sculptures, wonderful food and restaurant - and of course great tea! This was all presented to us by Colleen a lovely French postgraduate guide.Written 16 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Angela10 contributionsThe trip was fantastic! Our guide Robyn took us on 3 scenic hikes accompanied with coffee brewing and gin tasting experiences. Robyn was a great company with a good sense of humour about kiwi’s way of doing things, attentive and knowledgeable. She showed us plenty of native vegetation and even gave me her last bit of toothpaste when I found out I forgot mine! In the evenings we enjoyed luxury accommodation with freshly made meals by a private chef Jerome. Highly recommend to everyone!Written 10 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
