Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- P M3 contributionsThis place is a quick visit from Auckland, if you have an hour to spare, then go visit this place and if you have more time, then go for a hiking trip, it's breathtaking and you get to see a dormant volcano!!Written 23 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michelle NMelbourne, Australia541 contributionsThe water was a beautiful colour in the harbour. Really lovely. Great views of the city from the harbour as well. - jonneeboyWilmslow461 contributionsWe visited on pec and glad we did. The range of art on display is breathtaking, taking in very famous artists including Picasso, Dali and others plus Māori art, modern installations and more. Plus you can get up close to look at the brushwork which you don’t often get chance to do at more prestigious galleries, plus it’s absolutely FREE!!! Many of the major works were donated by the Robertsons who lived near Central Park, New York. Some of my favourites tho were the portraits of Māori ancestors by Gottfried Lindauer, and also the ancient and modern sculptures and works by Māori artistsWritten 30 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jessica M34 contributionsWalked up here with our 16 and 9 yr old on a recent stay in Auckland. 9 yr old commented thanks for talking me in to this idea I never would have thought it’d be so pretty. Awesome walk, dog friendly and definitely the prettiest part of Auckland I’ve visited so far :)Written 14 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ChamirChristchurch, New Zealand8 contributionsHey, we just had the coolest family day out at Cornwall Park! The kids went nuts for the children's playground, while we parents couldn't get enough of the views. It's like, one minute you're watching sheep grazing peacefully, and the next you're staring at this crazy volcanic landscape. Talk about a trip through time! We packed a picnic and made a whole day of it. Seriously, if you're in Auckland with the fam, you've gotta check this place out. It's a total win for everyone!Written 16 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MiklosSz9738 contributionsThis is a beautiful black beach.
The views are breath taking, and the caves at the far end are well worth the walk.
And if you are willing to cross the stream by the entrance to go North, you are further rewarded by more beauty.Written 8 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Parking was kind of pain to find but not a big deal. We had lunch and ice cream and walked around. A lot of shops and restaurants. Not really impressive as people talking about it. Maybe at night time for drinks with the skyline at the background but it was just ok for us. If you have time to kill I would go but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit if not a lot of time in Auckland.Written 9 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Anonymous855Trabuco Canyon, California1,799 contributionsLoved the day we spent here...even got a little lost and didn't mind at all. The cafe in Wintergarden is delightful with seating outside next to the pond. We are walkers so it was a treasure. Took the bus here and back to our hotel. Close to the Auckland Domain. For ease I would catch the train or bus to the top of Parnell Rd then walk back down the steep hill to the Harbour/ City!Written 9 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lenny HAuckland, New Zealand957 contributionsWhat an amazing area. Plenty of ferry trips you can take, but even better if you can go in a private boat. So many hidden gems to be discovered. Go ashore and discover the numerous walks on many islands or just enjoy the scenery from the sea.Written 24 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
