Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- bollidarlingAuckland, New Zealand281 contributionsThe venue is well appointed, there’s a great choice of snacks & drinks and it’s close to some great eateries. There’s plenty of parking (paid) and it’s on a lot of bus routes especially from the NorthWritten 7 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - robert wAuckland, New Zealand207 contributionsWe have just seen The Lion KIng at Spark Arena. One word sums up our evening.... BRILLIANT. :-) :-)
The staff and amenities (food, beverages etc.) at Spark Arena were excellent and not expensive, also the merchandise outlets were well stocked, our seats were very good and it was great to have two very large screens on either side of the stage so that our viewing was made all the clearer. The Show was BRILLIANT from start to finish ! :-) :-)Written 2 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The Loft is great for smaller shows and intimate performances because of the size and style of the room and seating setting. It really encourages the audience to engage and I have found myself enjoying both shows I've attended there. There are stairs and also a lift to go up and down and with the bar downstairs its great to have pre or post drinks or nibbles there too. The atmosphere of Q Theatre is really nice; it has a classier feel than just a regular old bar where you'd pop in for drinks and whenever I've been there or gone passed it, I always see lots of people in there having a good time - just as I did. That's always a good sign that it's a kind of place you wana check out :) I like that there are different seating options too and the decor looks great. The staff are good friendly people too :)Written 27 August 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MissTinkerbelleChristchurch, New Zealand169 contributionsEven though our seats for Queen were supposedly restricted viewing they were great and we were front on for Elton but the seats were much tighter in the temporary stands. AT transport there was extremely efficient but finding our way back to the bus afterwards was impossible for Queen (we took the train in the end) and difficult for Elton. Gate E is all the way through Mt Smart and out the back and around whch is a bit of a trek. Fairly efficient operation and gret experiences even if Elton did only complete half his planned songlistWritten 17 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MoniqueHamilton, New Zealand66 contributionsWe were recommend coming to The Comedy Club as our hotel was across the road. It was fantastic! $15 to get in, great select of drinks, and endless laughter for a solid 2 hours. I’ve been raving about this place for a week! Will definitely be back!Written 26 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sandra SAuckland, New Zealand75 contributionsThis is a great little cinema with four screens, not large with a lovely little 16 odd seater. Easy parking, coffees, etc available in the foyer or next door is the Clarence Road Eatery.Written 5 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Glenn BAuckland Central, New Zealand53 contributionsGreat live venue. Good sound. Drinks could use some work-expensive/weak. Security a little over the top too.Written 7 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Howard AAuckland, New Zealand404 contributionsThe most obvious feature of the Herald Theatre is the extraordinary rake of the seats in the auditorium. It feels like you need ropes and crampons to get to and from your seat. To be honest the seats are not the most comfortable. However, the sight-lines are great wherever you sit.
The bar in the foyer is well stocked and comfortable. there are a variety of interesting seats and sofas to make yourself comfortable in while you wait.
The Herald is a small theatre tucked away behind the Aotea Centre. Somewhat off the beaten track. As such it specializes in some more avant garde productions. Some very interesting shows. You don't always know quite what you are going to get, that is part of the attraction.Written 19 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The candlelit cathedral was out of this world and the time passed so fast, listening to the string quartet playing all of Adele’s best hits through the years!Written 11 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Monica TLondon, UK70 contributionsIf you are in town on Wednesday night, this amazing underground club (inside a club called 1885) in Britomart, Auckland Downtown has the best jazz performance to offer. From music school students to world famous guest musicians, the shows there have never failed surprising me. It normally starts at 8pm and runs for 2 hours, door sale is available but cash only (in several occasions tickets have been completely sold out) so be there early say 7:40pm! Musicians normally come with their CDs therefore have extra cash on hand is always handy. Bar in the club offers amazing wines and drinks, it takes eftpos/credit cards. If you would like to know what's on that night, you can always to go their website to find out (however I love to just pop in and let it surprise me).Written 2 June 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RoyalcourtierAuckland Central, New Zealand44 contributionsThe Starlight Symphony used to be the most popular annual event in Auckland, attracting well over 100,000 visitors. Some estimates put the numbers at over 250,000. Unfortunately lack of a sponsor has meant that the last event was held in 2009.Written 8 March 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cathy MAuckland, New Zealand21 contributionsWhat an absolutely fantastic night of laughter, food and great cocktails. This place is starting to attract the big name comedians, so well worth the (dinner included) admission.Written 19 August 2013This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
