Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- MouzourisDetroit, MI2,103 contributionsWe had time to kill in Auckland so we decided to drive there based on the reviews. Parking was kind of pain to find but not a big deal. We had lunch and ice cream and walked around. A lot of shops and restaurants. Not really impressive as people talking about it. Maybe at night time for drinks with the skyline at the background but it was just ok for us. If you have time to kill I would go but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit if not a lot of time in Auckland.Written 9 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - senorita08Perth, Australia198 contributionsGreat area to wander around, plenty of cafes and restaurants, interesting shops, parks and gardens. Close to the Auckland Domain. For ease I would catch the train or bus to the top of Parnell Rd then walk back down the steep hill to the Harbour/ City!Written 9 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Barbara Crutchfield6 contributionsPretty cool hotel with an emphasis on sustainability. The only problem I had really was that the rooms were a little small. Seemed that there was not a lot of space to set out our luggage. The location was great and everyone at the hotel was very helpful. I would stay there againWritten 13 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Paul LegateUnited Kingdom21,891 contributionsTakutai Square is in the Britomart area of the city, it is a unique urban space which is used for many events including open air cinema screenings and music events. When we visited the square it was busy as it was Waitangi Day so there were many people enjoying the sunny spells and relaxing in the square.Written 25 March 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
