Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited on Sunday 16 February looking for souvenirs. After having shopped in other gift shops in Auckland, this one on Parnell was the best we came across. It is hidden slightly down a little side street but well worth the visit.
This large shop is stocked with all things made in NZ and many handcrafted items. There were plenty of original and different items such as jewellery, wooden hand carvings, artwork and clothing and plenty more.
The shop assistant was super friendly and knowledgeable about everything.

Highly recommended and worth a visit. Definitely important to support local businesses and buy locally crafted products.

I fell in love with Pauanesia's products before I even visited the store - a Kiwi b&b owner in the UK had so many of their cute fabric kiwis in his b&b that I decided I would buy at least one before even arriving in NZ! I bought a medium kiwi for myself and 7 beanie kiwis for my friends and family. The shop is very well stocked (I always had to restrain myself from spending my entire paycheck there) and the staff are helpful and very patient as I spent ages there agonising over which kiwis to choose!
I have recently placed an order online/via the phone as well and have been very impressed both by the speed of the delivery and by the helpfulness of the staff, who after I phoned them immediately sent me a picture of the beanie kiwis they had available so I could choose one to order online.
It is such a pleasure to shop here and support a store that stocks unique, genuine NZ-made products! Please please please start offering overseas shipping!!

Over the years I have bought a lot of albums from Real Groovy and all have been in great condition. Lately I have been buying on line and again they are in great condition. Thanks to the staff at Real Groovy for sending the albums out very quickly and in good condition. Highly recommended.

I found Black Door Gallery by accident whilst strolling down Parnell Road. The Gallery is super interesting offering some excellent art , paintings , glassware , sculpture & other impressive collection from locals artists. If you enjoy Art this Gallery is definitely worth a visit.

While visiting Auckland we had a walk round the Arcade. There are some unusual shops with a really good cook shop selling some unusual cooking utensils. There are a good selection of shops to browse through.

They seating aswell through the shop so your bale to sit and read, they also have an outdoor area so on a warm day it would be lovely. The person on the till was lovely aswell. Totally recommend if you want to have a nice wander in a bookstore.

I'm a little biased but this is a great shop in the quaint friendly and historic retail precinct of Parnell just 3 km from the CBD of Auckland. Surrounded by other boutique niche shops such as Elephant House (NZ made authentic high end crafts) Hattitude (The only place in Auckland to purchase a stylish hat) River (selection of women's fashion styled by NZ's best designers) Passion for Paper (A fabulous experience in the stationery and all things paper plus more) Kiwaart ( The finest most exclusive pounamu/greenstone and South Pacific artefacts outlet in Auckland)
Hop on the inner or outer link bus from the city, uber it, (no more than $8 from central) or drive and park directly opposite at St John's Carpark for $3 per hour)

I've just been beaten to it. Someone else has written a review of the macadamia brittle crunch. Absolutely delicious.

This chocolate shop is generous in offering different flavours to taste generally, and in response to a specific question, provided another taste. Good service & good chocolate.

This book shop used to be in Onehunga, and moved to St Benedicts St a few years ago. It took us about 30 minutes to walk down there from Britomart.
The book shop has an excellent array of books and they are well organised. We found quite a bit of interest. Staff are helpful.
This shop is connected to the Hard to Find Bookshop in Dunedin, which we have also visited and enjoyed.

We were introduced to this firat class chocolatier on our walk talk and eat tour, so as soon as that finished we went straight back and treated ourselves to a macadamia milk hot chocolate and treated ourselves to some chocolates to take home with us. The staff were fantastic, the hot choxolate to die for and the chocolates better than Willy Wonka!

Today my friend and I visited this shop. The atmosphere of the shop is very relaxed and when we approach the girls behind the counter, they were very friendly and down-to-earth. The shop itself is quite large and full of many wonderful things (all manner of clothing, incense, instruments for meditation, jewelry, henna cones, pencil bags, purses of all kinds, floor cushions, etc.) I highly recommend giving it a visit :) I bought this coconut wood plug and this little leather book.
