Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Everything has to come together to get a good one.
Broome is nice but can be very expensive. Need to book well in advance if you want to ride the camels. Stayed in a caravan park, but as I have mentioned everything has to be planed and booked if you want to do tourist things.Written 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A $10 admission ( honesty box) is requested.Written 26 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Wear a hat or take an umbrella as it's quite exposed.Written 15 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BundyRedDuncraig, Australia2,974 contributionsA good place to explore may of the nearby bays or walk along the beach areas during low tide , the changes in comparison to high tide are outstanding.
Also a great place to take photos, the colours of the water against the rock formations are magic all framed by the nearby port area.Written 12 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ITRTVirginia38,577 contributionsThis jetty, built by E.W. Streeter & Co. of London, was used by pearl luggers to unload their pearl shells. It was built in the 1800’s across the mud flats of Dampier Creek to moor pearl luggers. A channel was cut through the mangroves to make access easier. The pearl luggers were able to offload their shells and to load needed supplies. The jetty has been demolished and rebuilt several times due to deterioration and lack of maintenance. An interesting fact is during high tides the jetty looks like it’s a jetty to nowhere.Written 3 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BabyboomerWADunsborough, Australia221 contributionsWe always visit the Broome Factory when in the Kimberley. With the Covid pandemic and downturn in visitors, they were well down on products when we visited in July. But we still found something locally made to take home. Worth taking the time to find this place. It's a bit hidden in the light industrial area.Written 9 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ITRTVirginia38,577 contributionsA memorial not to be missed in the Broome Town Beach area are the aluminum figures erected to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the air raid on Broome. It is known as 9 Zeros, 9 Stories and remains a silent reminder of the 88 people who were killed during the Broome Air Raid in March of 1942 by Japanese fighter planes. Each of the figures has a story to tell and are among the silhouettes of 9 zero (Japanese) planes. It was constructed commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Broome Air Raid. The Japanese Zeros (planes) destroyed 15 flying boats as well as the aircraft on the airfield. Each of the figures in the memorial have a story to tell. These stories include the chaos of war, the attack, and movement of people to name a few. The figures are located near the site of the wreck of the Catalina flying boat. Interesting memorial and worth a visit when in Broome.Written 2 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ITRTVirginia38,577 contributionsChinatown is the historic center of Broome and has a number of historical events noted throughout the town as it relates to Japan and the pearl industry. It was home to Asian and Aboriginal cultures living together in harmony. Located on the lands of the indigenous Yawuru people, it offers the best of both worlds. Some of the old buildings still stand. Broome's Chinatown today is the place where you will find pubs, boarding houses, pearl showrooms, art galleries, and cafes as well as historic buildings. Throughout the area are various commemorations of some of the events of World War II and the Japanese. This was the place where most of those who worked as pearl luggers lived. It was once Broome’s red-light district filled with brothels, gambling houses and opium dens. It is home to Sun Pictures, the world’s oldest outdoor movie theater.Written 3 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dan LBunbury, Australia7,494 contributionsSpotted this unusual sculpture/monument as we passed in our bus. It took some research later, but I eventually discovered that it is called 'Fusion'. It is shaped like the hull of a pearl lugger, curved steel, wood salvaged from an old bridge and 200kgs of pearl shell by Nic and Alex MIckle and was dedicated in August 2021. Described as a connection of earth and sky with the symbol on top aligning perfectly twice yearly with the moon on the crest.Written 10 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
