Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fri 26th April, I went to Monarto with my hubby & 31 year old son. We decided to walk the Zoo and do the bus trip later in the day - best thing. The day was not too hot so nice for walking. We got to see all the animals in their habitats. Monarto has changed alot since our previous visit in 2009 and good to see. Will be back when the Elephants are there as well. Great day, worth the drive and the cost is very good.

A wonderful garden to explore. The gardens weave you through different aspects of Japanese gardens. You will also see some very large Koi in lively colours. Make sure you add this to your Castle visit.

The Botanic Park is in between the Adelaide Zoo and the Adelaide Botanic Garden. If you walk from one to the other, you pass through the Botanic Park. You can see many fruit bats in the trees. That is an impressive sight. (I would not make a special trip here, but it is a lovely walk between the two other attractions.)

Have been here many times by bike and car. This time we hiked from Waterfall Gully to Mt Lofty. Scenic views. Waterfalls are small in comparison to many others but the best in Adelaide. Ample parking available and multiple toilets.

We went for the garden, which we loved. Lots of planting areas and garden rooms to explore. And while the architecture of the new cafe is a bit out of place, the food and service there are excellent. Best scone I've had in many years. Good place for families and picnics.

Excellent hiking trail with scenic views. Plenty of rest stops when hiking from Waterfall Gully to Mt Lofty. Some steep parts but not for long.

Although access by car has a few options, you might want to plan entry, as exiting dense traffic can be stressful. We leave Port Rd at the lights, opposite Philips Street and wind slowly right, past the cafe, to the car park.
Immediately you see the police horses which can be viewed but not fed. There's a choice of pathways, towards the lake or the cafe and we did a circle, heading to the cafe first. Unfortunately, it wasn't open, but the menu looks good and an excellent playground is nearby. We made our way along the river, down majestic stairways, watching trees with autumn leaves and a spoonbill in the water. On advice from a passer-by, we went over the small bridge to get a view from the other side and into the tunnel just for the hell of it. Back over and on to the lake, we circled it and returned to the car.
A very pretty and relaxing walk that we plan to take little relatives. Very worthwhile and totally free.

A lovely garden just out of the Adelaide CBD that's well worth a look as you'll get to stroll by the Torrens River. There is a lack of shade in the park unfortunately though there is a nice rotunda there and a few park bench seats.

This is where the Popeye river cruises leave from.

    Recommended.

This playground has the longest slippery dip I have ever seen. It looks so scary I wouldn't go on it. The playground is close to the river so you can walk along the track and muck about in the water. You would want to wash your hands well after though.

Take a walk through the trees and look at all the different species. Watch out for the misting water off the trees, Spot the fish in the pond. A nice free walk .

Visited on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th February. Adelaide CBD is surrounded by parklands and you are spoilt for choice. We enjoyed walking around checking some out.
