When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Voyager3263827Los Angeles, CA56 contributionsConsidered among the top free snorkeling areas in Oahu. Yes, you should wear a minimum of water shoes, as some of the coral is sharp and all are uneven. Fins will help the further out you go. When we went there were a decent amount of fish - not an overwhelming amount, and definitely not ten. Even when the waves on the North Shore are strong, this protected area is generally calmer. That being said, we did get hit with a wave that went over the natural breakwaters and pushed all off our feet. You could stand, walk, and waddle through most of it, but be prepared to swim if a wave makes it over. The parking lot is elongated compared to Three Tables a beach over, probably because this place gets busier. They don't usually have a lifeguard, but that particular day they had one in her truck, and a fire department's McDonell Douglas MD500 NOTAR taking off and flying back and forth. There's a place to rent snorkeing gear and life vest across the street if need be.Written 21 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Aaron S64 contributionsBanzai Pipeline Beach is an absolute must-visit for anyone who loves the ocean, surfing, or simply watching nature at its most powerful and awe-inspiring. Sitting on the soft golden sand and watching the world-class surfers take on the iconic waves was nothing short of mesmerizing.
The energy of the beach is incredible, with the thunderous sound of crashing waves and the sight of surfers skillfully navigating the massive barrels. Even if you’re not a surfer, it’s easy to appreciate the athleticism and bravery of those out on the water.
The beach itself is pristine and well-maintained, with plenty of spots to relax and enjoy the view. It’s a great place to bring a chair or towel, settle in, and soak up the sun and the vibrant surf culture.
We left feeling inspired and in awe of the natural beauty and talent on display. If you’re visiting Oahu’s North Shore, watching the surf at Pipeline is an experience you won’t want to miss.
We even had the privilege of watching an opening ceremony for a surfing competition.Written 29 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It’s a little tricky finding the beach if you’re not familiar with the area. There’s a parking lot or parking along Kamehameha highway. Luckily it was early enough that we found a spot close to the beach path. Bring what you need…and leave nothing behind. The highlight of the beach was watching the surfers do their tricks.Written 19 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bowmanator22Charlotte, NC5,301 contributionsThis was the second heiau we visited on O’ahu, and this was much bigger and better than the one near Kailua. The view from the top overlooking Waimea Bay is fabulous, and the history of the heiau is interesting. The road going up is a little tight with many speed bumps, but it won’t take more than 20 or 30 minutes round trip from the Kamehameha Highway to visit.Written 21 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ZpeanutWashington DC, DC90 contributionsBeautiful property filled with native flora. Exhibits along the path about native Hawaiian culture. Waterfall is a bit underwhelming & the water is freezing cold. Great snack bar & specialty coffee shop.Written 26 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Joni H39 contributionsWe stayed near Three Tables and enjoyed snorkeling here several times. The variety of sea life was amazing! We liked this area better than the wel-known Shark’s Cove.Written 8 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
