Since the old town is very small, close to the beach, you definitely need to sit down for a cuppa by the beach (one of my favourites is Huckleberry's with a view of the little harbour and Turner Galley).
The Soul weekend is fantastic too.....check out events on the local tourist site...book your hotel early.

A fantastic church, good displays explaining the development of the site and why Pugin chose Ramsgate.
A walk around the grave yard where local Italian Ice Cream families are buried is also interesting as is the sea view.
