Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Dirk WAlexandra Headland, Australia10,147 contributionsZilkale Castle sits on a 1,000, cliff overlooking the Firtina River. The view from a distance is awesome : the rugged tower, steep massive walls, surrounded by green valley. There's not much information on site, but apparently it is 600 years old and in excellent condition. It appears to have been a Georgian castle because of the presence of a chapel. As I said, some more info would be better.Written 18 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JAM27061957Bradford, UK87 contributionsWe visited ayder yalasi in September for a day wow what a beautiful place it’s like Switzerland the hills and the mountains so green and lush,it felt so peaceful, there are lots of places for walking or trekking, walking up the street there are plenty of cheap places to get something to eat and the locals are so friendly, I feel I would go back for a few days.Written 24 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kamal SBolu, Türkiye218 contributionsWent on 12 September 2018. The location is so beautiful but reaching there is very hard. I don't advise anybody to go there with their own car. There are daily tours from Ayder. But the journey took maybe an hour (I didn't check this because I was busy trying to stay in my seat). I paid 40 Turkish for 3 locations (salWritten 9 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- RashazeinIstanbul, Türkiye18 contributionsA beautiful natural water falls. If you are in Trabzon, make sure you make the effort to visit. Be ware, you will be wet and cold in the area.Written 1 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Semih E6 contributionsIt is a beautiful place. I was recommended visiting here by Marsis tour, a local tourism agency, but if you need such services there are countless many others there. They take you to Huser in Volkswagen Crafter or similar vehicles. Didn't see any smaller vehicles used by agencies. While this is a viable and easy way, I think that it is best if you go there with your own vehicle (preferably 4x4 but not a must), but you need to be a skilled driver to navigate the narrow mountain roads.
It lies after Ayder, you can ask the locals in Ayder about the state of the roads. If you visit Ayder, why don't spend some more time to reach such a beautiful place? Ayder is beautiful but it is too-developed, not as natural as Avusor or Huser. You also pass near Avusor on the road as well, which is another beautiful place. Avusor also has a small motel-like place "simge pansion" but I didn't stay there, just passed in front of it, seemed busy.
Camping is also possible in both Avusor and Huser, I didn't do it but saw several campers around as I was travelling back to the city after sunset. Huser is most beautiful during sunset. After sunset it gets dark (very dark) immediately and cars form a line back to Ayder, slowly travelling in the dark. Again, being a skilled driver is important if you are using your own car.
Btw, if you have fear of heights the roads most probably will scare you, they look into a magnificent valley which gets filled with clouds as the evening approaches.
If you are travelling somewhere in Rize, don't miss the sunset in Huser, for if God was a painter, this would be one of his masterpieces.

At the top are some open grasslands used for summer grazing and also a few small hotels and restaurants. The day we went it was very misty and raining - but it was still an interesting visit and nice view.Written 21 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mary-Anne FOttawa, Canada110 contributionsThe waterfall is about 2.5 km from the parking area/road, so it's approximately an hour of walking roundtrip. We passed by early in the day and there were several cars and vans parked, so we returned late in the day (just before closing) and we met only 6 other people in our whole time on the concrete path. It was shaded and fairly cool, and we had the waterfall to ourselves when we arrived. It's not really exciting if you are an outdoorsy person, but it's worth 60 - 90 minutes of your time if you would enjoy an easy walk.Written 3 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - b0fiStuttgart, Germany330 contributionsWe went as far up as the paved road took us. Although tours take you to the plateau, we continued on foot, passed the villages to the ridge on the left of Avusor (about 15km return). The view is just incredible and worth every step.Written 28 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
