Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hiking Trails
What travellers are saying
- Sarah E H4 contributionsI read several reviews and was so glad we weren't scared off. Worth the adventure for these beautiful views! It is important to have a car with AWD and take it slow, because the beginning of the road is very bumpy. But once you get past the first km or so, it feels like you're driving on Mars. You will park close to the trail head, which is a little hard to identify at first and quite narrow of a footpath, it runs across the coastline. The trail will take you down to the water so you can walk past the cannon holes and you can look over towards the big oven (sea cave). The trail does not loop so be prepared to go back the way you came.Written 17 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - gunnyappleseedKingston, Canada148 contributionsIf you spend the time to drive all the way up to Anse Aux Meadows to see the old Viking site, you probably want to spend at least one night before taking that road back south. This park is reasonably close. Staff are nice, sites are clean and level, and the laundromat was a welcome surprise in such a rustic park.Written 25 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Janet JRoslin, Canada23 contributionsShort 20 min hike. Some steep spots but very doable. The top has unbelievable 360 degree views of the area. Great way to see Raleigh and Burnt Cape and all the icebergs within view.Written 4 June 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
