Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The "cité" is an amazing place, gives the feeling of a fairytale. Buildings are beautiful, streets are small and delightful. Shops are also great to visit. View is breath taking, recommended to visit during sunset.

My wife and I spent two weeks at the 5 Valley campsite in Briançon France. It was a very enjoyable and very relaxing experience. Surrounded by trees and mountain views the campsite is ideally located near the city. Fabien and Cristelle the owners are fantastic as well as all their staff. They go out of their way to please their customers. Briançon is a small alpine city with a lot of character. Of course, mountains and hiking trails are everywhere. So if you enjoy walking in total nature I would highly recommend visiting the 5 valley campsite in Briançon France.

Well worth the climb up and 6 euro entry fee

The site is a bit tired which is a bit of a shame but very interesting and spectacular views

I would say some of the climbs up very steep steps would be tough for some and some of the walls and views are really exposed

    We thought it was great

A cosy book shop off the Grande Rue in the Cite Vauban. Get a refreshing drink while you look through the selection of books. We passed by on a game night and the kids were introduced to a new game!

I had read that the food is good here. I wanted a bowl of soup and a burger. The soup arrived in 3 minutes. After another 15 minutes I asked the waitress when I could have my burger, she said I needed to be patient. A guy sat down at the table beside me and I heard him order the same burger. I thought good luck to you. But in less than five minutes his burger was served. I waved at my waitress and asked again. She said I need to be patient. At the same time a brown bald man (acted like the manager) walked by with the biggest plate of food I've ever seen. He placed it on his table near me and returned to tell me I was not patient. I explained that the guy beside me received his burger in five minutes, and I thought it might have been mine. He spoke to the waitress who said she served the wrong table. The bald man said it is all my fault since I'm not patient, so now I need to wait even longer. I told him I've been waiting for 30 min. now for a burger and I'm hungry. He said get your jacket and leave now. As I got up he said first you must pay 7 euros for the cup of soup. I paid and left. I never once raised my voice or used profanity. I can see why many tables were empty when he sat down and stuffed his face with food while I was still hungry. At any other restaurant the manager might have offered me a glass of wine while I waited even longer, or a free desert but not here. The bald guy is just mean. Normally I might have stayed after dinner to lose a few hundred Euros, but never here. Never go to the Briancon Casino. Avoid it at all costs. It was the worst experience I've had in the Alps in more than 30 years. I found many other wonderful restaurants in the weeks I was there so don't write off the whole town. Just stay away from the Casino. This one man is the reason I'll never go back.
