Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Dirk WAlexandra Headland, Australia10,124 contributionsThis house was kept in descendants of high aristocracy for many generations, through periods of revolution and war. The current granddaughter of the family welcomed us in traditional ao dai and fluent English. She was really charming. The house with Chinese altar for the ancestors was beautiful, as was the garden with pond. We then proceeded to get a guided tour around the pond, where every plant, stone and ornament was explained for its meaning in Feng Shui. I understand that some people would find this interesting, even fascinating . . . but not me. Not wanting to be rude to the host-lady, I spent way too long in this very nice house.Written 17 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Daphne VChiang Mai Province, Thailand146 contributionsI was really interested to see a garden house in Hue. The An Hien Garden House has been kept in very good condition, has beautiful wood paneling and attractive huge wooden pillars in the front room, it was clean and dusted. I noted there were many nice curved openings in the walls for air circulation I think. The large garden area was filled with fruit trees but the ground everywhere had been raked so clean there wasn't a blade of grass - just bare earth. I was told to pay a minimal entrance fee and was given an official ticket which the ladies demanded back again after giving it to me. I requested a pamphlet or paper with information about the garden house but was told there was nothing available. I got the feeling that visitors were really not very welcome, however the two ladies became more enthused after they enquired what hotel I was staying at. At first I was told I could just walk around and have a look but then one of the young ladies went into the main house with me and explained it was 137 years old, one of Hue's princesses had lived there (I can't remember which number she said) and the men used the left side of the house, the women the right.
I think the most impressive thing was the wide, long, tree-lined, paved path leading to the house - without a dynamic guide or a pamphlet with interesting facts about the property this garden house is not worth visiting, most disappointing!Written 18 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - palawanismyhomePalawan Island, Philippines24,361 contributionsCo Ha Royal Garden is in the NE corner of the citadel and is worth a quick stroll along the garden paths. The Nguyen Dynasty started many gardens about 400 years ago, not only in the citadel but in many other areas of Hue, including the Royal Tombs. Many rare plants and trees were planted in the gardens and should be of interest to horticulturists.Written 26 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
