Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- MarisaAustralia10 contributionsExploring this UNESCO World Heritage Site felt like stepping back in time. We were blown away by the grandeur of the royal palaces, temples, and gardens. A must-see cultural treasure of Vietnam!Written 7 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Halwell1 contributionThe stunning views of the Perfume River from this historic site are simply breathtaking. As we climbed the steps, each level revealed more beauty. The iconic seven-story pagoda against the backdrop of lush greenery is a photographer's dream. We felt so energized by the peaceful atmosphere and the incredible panorama.Written 3 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nguyễn Đức NguyễnHanoi, Vietnam135 contributionsLots of parts are still not in a good preserving condition for how much you have to pay the ticket, but at least it was green, quite and not touristy.Minh Mang tomb was probably something you should not miss to pay respect for the one who expanded Vietnamese territory at its peak.Written 22 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ben KingLondon, UK182 contributionsHands down this is the best tomb in Hue. It’s more French style architecture which makes it really stand out, compared to other tombs which stand by traditional Vietnamese style architecture. The tomb itself defies words and you’re simply in awe. Definitely stop by here!Written 22 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ben KingLondon, UK182 contributionsThe tomb of Tu Duc is well worth the visit - especially if you are scootering around the city. It’s on a big estate with various tombs and temples and is really interesting. There’s a lake where you can feed koi fish, which I hadn’t seen before, and Tu Duc’s ‘secondary’ wives (of which he had 103!) are also buried at the sight. It’s definitely been affected by time and the turbulent Vietnamese weather, but this is worth seeing if you’re in HueWritten 22 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tfreshwater202010 contributionsDO NOT MISS THIS SITE WHEN TRAVELLING TO HUE. There are many beautiful, old tombs and temples in Vietnam. It would be difficult, however, to imagine one looking more fantastic than this. Imposing and dark from the street, with a large iron gate in front of a long, steep, exterior stairway. After the initial stair climb, there is a landing/ plaza with many life-size sculptures of people and animals. Also there, an ornate pavilion, multiple spires, 5 claw sculpture dragons, more gates, and more stairs... All the stair climbing is worth it once you see the interior of the tomb at the very top.
Eye- popping, detailed, ceramic tiles in all shapes colors and sizes are utterly amazing. It seems no surface was left un- decorated. It is easy to see why the construction took 11 years- 5 years AFTER the death of the Emperor. So happy the tour itinerary included this stop! Able to learn much about this important historical figure, all that he did for Hue and Vietnam. Also happy weather was dry to help manage slippery steps and fully enjoy outdoor areas and sculptures.Written 4 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. However, there're several other smaller palaces within the Imperial City complex (built according to Beijing's forbidden city complex) you can visit.
All of them are within the Citadel encircled by a moat and worth your 2 hours of time.Written 4 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MizuhoKHino, Japan4,100 contributionsThis is a pretty wooden bridge built by a local woman. Carvings on the pillars are pretty. It’s in use by locals. There were several old people sitting, resting and selling souvenirs on the bridge.
This bridge is located outside of Hue central area so you need to arrange a ride to come here. We asked a tour guide to stop by here in an original tour which didn’t include here. Of course we paid extra.Written 20 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I had been forgetting about mindfulness practice due to my messed up daily life, so decided to visit this pagoda to do mindfulness walking.
From this visit and this circumstance, I could understand more about what Thích Nhất Hạnh had touched us.
Here brought me to sit and calm down.
Very peaceful place.Written 2 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Coyote-TravelerzJacksonville, FL2,675 contributionsDuring the day the bridge is, well, just another bridge over a river.
At night, however, when lighted up it provides a colorful backdrop while walking through the park along the river.Written 20 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Ben KingLondon, UK182 contributionsThere some misconceptions about this sight so let me lay it out for you: this is no longer a ‘secret’ in Hue. If you’re in a Grab, taxi, or on some sort of tour and/or scooter guide, locals know where this place is. There is no ‘entrance’, but anyone transporting you there will know where to send you. You get dropped off at a barrier, walk 5 minutes straight down a dirt road, and you stumble upon this crazy sculpture! There are NO ‘security guards’ that you have to pay to get in. Only locals trying to sell drinks and some snacks. You can actually walk up to the dragon and into its mouth, which was cool. The dragon is covered in graffiti - this almost seems welcomed at this point. Finally, we overheard a guide saying a road is actually being built so more people can get to this abandoned sight. If you’re going to Hue any time soon, make sure you go so you can say you saw this place when it was truly abandoned! It’s a little bit out of the way but I’m glad we added this stop on our scooter tour.Written 22 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Piotr MWarsaw, Poland1,096 contributionsThis is a very nice Pagoda, hidden a little bit from the centre, but still worth visiting becaause of all the decorationWritten 24 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Madhumita SMinneapolis, MN57 contributionsIt was a nice experience. The structures are well maintained and depicts the how powerful and rich the empire was. I would definitely recommend to take a guided tour so that the history lovers will gather a lot of information.Written 25 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - lifeisbestjourneyCarate Brianza, Italy20 contributionsIt was a rainy day but the lady we found made our day. With passion and knowledge she helped us understand and show about history and Hue handicraft. They produce traditional hats, incense, rice alcohol, paper flowers. There is also a little shop where you can buy some nice souvenirs. We spent 2 hours in a very welcoming place with beautiful atmosphere, drinking tea as well. And also we receive a nice present, a paper flower. It was much more than I expected and I am very grateful for this.Written 2 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
