What a great walk with lovely sights including a waterfall, swans, ducks and even a heron.
when you are just wanting to leave the house for a couple of hours I would defiantly recommend going round Skipton castle woods, it smelt amazing due to the wild garlic and there are so many picturesque views.

We saw Llamas, deer, sheep & lambs, cows & calves, ducks ....& a fox!!!...not to mention the fantastic views...a great day out for all and good value for money.

The tour leaflet was fun and easy to follow, the castle people friendly and knowledgeable, but the highlight was the castle itself with great views ofvSkipton and the surrounding area
The site includes a medieval church, picnic area, tea room, shop and plant sales, with an excellent selection of fresh herbs.

Lovely choice of tea rooms with stunning views of the Abbey, walk down to the river and just enjoy the peace, or cross the river on the stepping stones ( take care).
We stayed at the caravan club site at Bolton abbey, they have the most fabulous walks in the woods down to the pavilion also some lovely tea rooms on site a great day out for all the family and dogs also.

I did not know before I arrived that Mr Trueman was born in Skipton but pleased to see that he was recognised with an attractive statue in his honour located in a pleasant site and in very good upkeep

Didn’t get to view the grounds due to weather but there are animals to see, a museum which is pretty big and contains everything from mummies to kids toys.
Free to visit,plenty to explore newly refurbished kids play area,theres also an ice cream van on site for the kids to enjoy.
