Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- DawkinsrocksLondon148 contributionsThe place is superb
Lovely staff, great rooms, excellent restaurants and beautiful pools
We stayed in the ocean wing which was worth the extra
Our stay slightly overlapped the start of the easter holidays so the pool was taken over by children and if I were to offer any advice to management it would be to restrict children to the lovely children’s pool as they get in the way of the lanesWritten 25 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - IbrahimRabaniSri Kembangan, Malaysia526 contributionsThe main objective of this museum is to show the varieties of fashion of local and indigenous people in Sabah. They dressed up dolls with these and put it up on display.
Kinda spooky if you come alone at night though hahaha.
Anyway there's lots to learn here, if you are interested in this kind of thing.Written 20 December 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is mainly a food market, nothing touristy here. I asked the taxi to stop off at the San Ling Tuaran pagoda on the way back, really nice.Written 28 March 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lee BCoventry, UK8 contributionsThe scenery is incredible & the course is very tough - narrow fairways in places with water on nearly every hole.
I played on a day after heavy overnight rain so the course was very soft. In general, the course was in OK condition but some greens have large areas in need of repair.
Cost was approx £100 for a round + buggy + club hire (with the discount for staying at Rasa Ria hotel).
Overall experience was OK, but not amazing. Rental clubs are excellent (Titleist / Vokey / Scottish Cameron).
For a resort course experience, I would have expected a few tees, a towel to keep clubs clean & maybe a bottle or 2 of water included, however all of this was extra.
Course includes a driving range. 75MYR (~£15) for 100 balls incl. club hire & 4 soft drinks.Written 26 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. At first, we were a little bit upset with the entrance fee but hold on, give it a try. So when we enter the underground ant nest(starting point), there was a staff welcoming us. I didn't expect that. He explained everything and since I'm the curious one, I asked a lot of questions. He managed to answer every questions. Long story short, it is worth to pay RM15 for a trip. RM15 for 11 sections. However, the price doesnt include with Zipline activity. You need to pay extra in order to join that. Nothing to complain about, everything is excellent! We learnt a lot of new facts abt ants at the Ant Education Section. The rest i let the pictures speak.Written 5 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

A great spot for a bird's eye view of Tuaran town from the top. Caution is needed as the flight of stairs can be steep for some.Written 11 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Big Asian ChoiceKuala Lumpur, Malaysia238 contributionsSabandar Beach is a non-crowded beach popular among locals, a long and wide stretch of sandy beach suitable for swimming and water activities. The beach faces West and is the most suitable for viewing sunset. There was toilet and shower facility, where a small amount of payment was required to use the facility. There was a row of food stalls at the beachfront selling local food and drink at affordable prices. Horse-riding activity on the beach was available as well. On the day of my visit, a herd of cows was seen on the beach as well. I enjoyed the company of the cows while viewing the sunset together.Written 19 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - carleen_0986Quezon City,Philippines181 contributionsIf you're on your way to Poring Hotspring this is also a good place to drop by. In our case our itinerary was this Cowboy town, Upside down Museum, Mt.Kinabalu Park, Desa Farm, Poring Hotspring, Rabbit Farm and lastly the Rafflesia Flowers.
It was indeed a busy day but starting here was worth it. We went there around 8:30 am it is not yet open but they opened for us. There's really not much to see though so it's only for a few minutes that we stayed. If you just wanted to feel the cowboy place and some mangrove forest its a place to see.
We enjoyed picture taking at the mangrove forest it feels fresh and calming. We were not able to go deeper into the forest since we are on a time constraint schedule.
There is also a horse riding area where you may rent their horse. We didn't try since its still to early and the horses are still at the barn during that time plus the clock is ticking as we just finished enjoying the view.
This place can be considered a must visit if you have plenty of time in Kota Kinabalu but if not, you may skip and move on to Kinabalu park and Desa Farm where you would more likely enjoy best. :-)Written 6 November 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
