Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Gloria PToronto, Canada156 contributionsWe ended up here as a result of having to change our trip due to the cyclone hitting NZ. What a great choice!! An absolutely beautiful beach that goes forever. Great for walking. Not crowded. Lots of kite sailing overhead. I would say a must go to beach.Written 25 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Shaun NAuckland, New Zealand19 contributionsSilver Fern riding stables offers quality horse riding lessons and horse treks in Waiuku, south of Auckland. The riding lessons are conducted in a purpose built outdoor arena in Waiuku and the horse treks are held in the nearby Waiuku forest. The horse trek takes you through the very pretty forest area and over fairly easy terrain. Lessons are held for both adults and children and caters for beginners to advanced riders. I love the training, the horses the peaceful rural landscape. If you are looking for adventure or to build your riding skills or just to escape the bustle of Auckland for a few hours this is for you. Please remember to wear long pants and enclosed shoes and a camera is a must.Written 17 June 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kelly PDarwin, Australia103 contributionsThe 6 hour scenic cruise is a MUST do. The trip takes you up the waiuku river and hugs the Awhitu peninsula coast as you chug past Matakawau, Awhitu Regional Park, Graemes and Hudson Beaches. You’ll pass through Big Bay and round Mako Point into Orua Bay and Wattle Bay. We sailed close to South Head and had a look at the Manukau bar before surfing into calmer waters on the north side of the mouth of the Manukau into Cornwallis before getting close up with Huia where we stopped for lunch and visited the beach and pier. Skipper Trevor told stories of sailing the Ratahi from Tauranga up over Cape Reinga and to her current home in Waiuku.Written 26 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
