Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Rosemary H3 contributionsThis monastery should be added to anyone’s itinerary who visits Cassino especially those with an interest in WWII. The restoration work completed after WWII is outstanding.Written 4 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - prvnipivniGlasgow, Scotland.223 contributionsWe had a great couple of days at the waterpark. Enough fun slides to keep our teenagers happy and in mid July it wasnt overly busy which was great. Mostly locals and a nice chilled out atmosphere - plenty of space. Very clean and enough staff too. As mentioned earlier staff do a pop/singalong/dancing music thing near shallow pool which is fun for youngsters, but easy to sit somewhere quieter if you want. Its not the biggest waterpark but ideal if you are in the area.
Everything stops for an hour for lunch between 1-2. Staff helpful setting up sunbeds especially Carlo who speaks English. A warm welcome.
We got discount as staying at Rocca hotel 8 euro admission per person entry. Normally 10 euro. Sunbed and brolly 3 euro standard. After 2pm around half price.Written 21 July 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The small museum at the entrance and the lovely staff are extremely helpful.Written 9 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tranquil and well cared for. Sombre, yet comforting. Thank you CWGC.Written 25 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bruno CasalucraGlasgow, UK1 contributionI'd been longing to see this place for a long time , having been born just 15 miles away. If you're looking for Tanks, guns, possessions, then yes, you'll be disappointed. Although there are a few, it's (rather, wasn't) that kind of Museum. Yes, they should've had multi lingual guides, and that's my reason for not giving 5/5.
It was a 'Virtual' Museum. You experienced the sounds, smell and views experienced by the poor souls at the time. The ability to buy pictures and view Destruction Percentages was amazing. AND I learned that the Rapido changes it's name further down and thus Allied Ordnance Mapmakers got it wrong leading to thousands of unnecessary deaths. The Holograms by the two armies' leaders was breathtaking, giving their reasons for being there. Such a shame it's moved as I've been raving to everyone about it. For those who've had a bad experience - I'm sorry but it was astounding Visit was in 2017. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Norma DPortici, Italy150 contributionsI am writing this review in English because I feel the amphitheater and the small museum of Cassino deserve to be better known not only among Italians but by art lovers from abroad as well. I myself live in Naples, barely an hour and a half from the site, but had never heard of it. The amphitheater is quite well preserved , situated outside the wall of ancient Casinum, and it can be easily reached by walking along the Roman road that borders the wall. It is believed to have accommodated an audience of 4500, but I guess that if the tiers whose pieces are scattered around were restored, it would show a greater capacity.
In a very unusual position, inside the town’s wall, is the majestic tomb of Ummidia Quadratilla, recalling a Greek tholos. An awesome monument in celebration of a woman, deserving by itself the whole trip.
The amphitheater and the tomb date back to late Republican age (late 1st century B.C to early first century A.D.) while the museum displays exhibits from the ninth century B.C. down to the Roman Empire, showing that the Cassino area was populated by a number of cultural groups in the course of time.
Last but not least, a big thank you to the kind ladies who , despite being on duty on a hot humid June Sunday, supplied us with a great deal of helpful information so that we could make the best of our visit.Written 16 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The CWGC within Cassino is often visited on tours as it is in town at the foot of Monastery Hill. However the German cemetery is closer to Caira and is therefore not visited by groups - especially as there is no parking. Like all German cemeteries it is a sombre place, but these people deserve to be remembered as well, so do please visit.Written 13 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bruce L1 contributionI had the opportunity to visit "The Castle" before it was restored. I would have preferred they left it as it was from the battles that took place both inside and outside its walls. Dozens of Brits and Germans were killed fighting for possession of it. The Germans blew a large hole in the wall facing the Monastery in an attempt to re-capture it after the British forces captured it several days previously. They succeeded in doing so. Unfortunately, the hole was filled in during the restoration process. The entire castle was covered in bullet and artillery shell hits both inside and outside the structure. Unfortunately, they are no longer in evidence and what remains today is the sanitized Disneyland version of the Castle after it was restored. It is kind of sacrilegious to restore a place that, in its former condition, showed the visitor the actual battle scars that many soldiers sacrificed their lives, and the visitors would get a chance to experience what took place there firsthand. At the time I was there. there were quite a few leftover inert spent rifle and pistol shell cases still littering the ground from the battle at the Castle. Fortunately, the unrestored tower still bears the scars of the battles that took place there.Written 23 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Karen SCalgary, Canada5 contributionsThis beautiful exhibit of battlefield artifacts is a must see while in Cassino. This is a labour of love for Marco, Nicola and Simone and they have done a fantastic job creating this new display commemorating the battles at the Gustav Line. Marco’s tour was entertaining, full of passion and very informative. A very worthwhile stop!Written 26 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
