- phat_dawg_21Alpharetta, GA17,369 contributionsThis is a beautiful building on Piazza Caduti della Liberta. The building you see today was constructed in the 18th century on a medieval foundation. Architect Bernardo Antonio Vittone designed the facade.

It was constructed in the Middle Ages, and renovated in the Baroque style in the 18th century resulting in the building you see today.

He was the founder of the charitable work called the Little House of Divine Providence.
This one today is articulated in three branches (sisters, friars and lay brothers) who perform charitable works in Africa, America and Europe.
In order to enter the building you must ask the nun for the permission.
The nun I spoke with told me that visiting places is not for curious ones, but for people interested in Cottolengo's life and work.
The building is very clean and kept with great care.
You can see the cellar with old tools to squeeze the grapes and barrels to produce wine, the room with the utensils that were used to work the earth, flats with 1800's furnishings and the reconstruction of an artist's studio on the top floor.
You need the utmost respect for places and objects to allow anyone in the future to enjoy the visit.
